OK. So it's not my CF, it's my DSis's friend's CF. But it is a CF.

Friday night Jack and Jill and DCs went to bed early because they were getting a coach early Saturday morning. Jack was taking part in an event on Sunday and would be spending the afternoon with his team mates and Jill and the DCs were going to explore together. Sunday they were going to watch the event.

Jill came downstairs at 6am to find an envelope on the floor with a note and a key. It was from a neighbour who they aren't particularly friendly with - just take in parcels etc. plus occasional play dates for the DCs. Note said that they were going away for a few days and had been let down for cat care so would Jill do it? Instructions on feeding, dealing with cat litter etc included.

Fortunately Jill had Mrs CF's mobile number so texted to say she couldn't and they were leaving soon and wouldn't be back until late Sunday. CF texted back asking what she was supposed to do about the cat. Jill replied to the effect of come home and feed it because I'm not going to be here. Mrs CF then rang very upset and pleaded with Jill to look after the cat. Jill said she couldn't they were going away. Then she asked Jill to knock on other doors in the road to ask someone to do it. Jill said she had no time to do that they were leaving and it was 6.30 in the morning. Mrs CF said she'd have to sort something out herself then and hung up crossly. Such a cheek.

Crikey, entitled much?

Yep, high grade cf.

HotChocolateLover · 28/04/2019 18:46

Lol, love it 😊

BogglesGoggles · 28/04/2019 18:46

She seriously rang up to ask what she was supposed to do about her own cat?

foreverhomefornow · 28/04/2019 18:48

Haha that's brilliant! Well done Jill for telling her to gtf

acomingin · 28/04/2019 18:50

DSis says Jill's a lovely woman and would probably have just done it had they not already had plans. (not their real names btw)

Super dooper CF!! Well done to Jill for telling them to Foxtrot Oscar.

JeantheHipster · 28/04/2019 18:52

I'm disappointed they aren't really called Jack and Jill Wink

Troels · 28/04/2019 18:53

Wow yes a CF. she should have sorted it in person before dropping a note a ket through the door. Poor cat.

StealthPolarBear · 28/04/2019 18:54

Who leaves their pets home alone without a plan for their care?!

MrsMozartMkII · 28/04/2019 18:56

The blinking cheek of people never ceases to amaze me.

Bonkers, the lot of them!

Iloveacurry · 28/04/2019 19:00

Very CF! Well done Jill.

Crunchymum · 28/04/2019 19:02

Cat would have been fine from early Sat to late on Sun???

But CF should have asked / checked and not assumed.

Sexnotgender · 28/04/2019 19:03

I feel sorry for the catSad

Crunchymum · 28/04/2019 19:05

Sorry I'm not clear..... neighbour could have gone away Sat morning and Jill could have gone about her planned activities, and popped in to feed cat Sunday night..... had this been discussed / agreed!!!!

acomingin · 28/04/2019 19:10

From what DSis said I think the envelope was posted Friday night when the family had all gone to bed early. So CFs could have gone away Friday night.

My Mum had something very similar. She had some neighbours who were in the habit of asking very last minute, when going away, to water their "prizewinning" greenhouse plants. It was a very physical job as they had no adjacent tap so buckets and watering cans had to be lugged down the garden.

However the final time they didn't even bother to ask but just posted the key and a note through the letter box. My mum at the time was 80, with severe arthritis, waiting for a knee replacement and using crutches - she couldn't even manage to carry her own shopping at the time never mind buckets of water. When she rang the wife threw an absolute fit and was very nasty.

What made it worse was that the husband was the Minister of a local church - so not much compassion for the elderly!

Isitweekendyet · 28/04/2019 19:28

People are fucking weird!

Singlenotsingle · 28/04/2019 19:31

A big bowl of cat biscuits and a big bowl of water would see the cat through the weekend, no problem.

(not their real names btw)

I, er, think we probably had guessed that... Hmm
