I am chronically disorganised. Actually, properly chaotic. Please share your tips with me to help me to feel less frazzled 🙏

I'm loving the book Atomic Habits.

Here are a few things that I find helpful.

I work three days a week, so I plan in advance what I'm going to wear on those three days and make sure it is clean and ready to go, that I've got enough clean tights etc. Then I leave the outfit out the night before, including underwear and shoes, so into not scrabbling round in the morning looking for the right bra/top/trousers.

Meal plan and buy the right groceries for the meals I plan to cook. Use leftovers for lunch the next day instead, kills two birds with one stone.

Have a planner in the kitchen and everything goes on it as soon as it is arranged. School trips, dinner with friends, payments needing made, everything.

Set reminders on my phone for all sorts of things - car MOT, cancel a subscription, meet a friend for coffee

Declutter the house - it's far easier to be organised when you know where everything is and you're not overwhelmed by 'stuff'.

Unless you already have them, don't have a dh /dc.
If you already do the ltb and sell the dc.
Instant clutter mess free home

If you get a letter or an email you need to respond to, do it straight away then you don’t have to remember again.

Have a place for everything (that place should be where makes sense to you eg where would I look for scissors).

Look ahead at your diary on a Sunday afternoon.

I keep notepad and write in all the things I need to do eg birthdays, to do lists etc.

Every few months, I will raid Card Factory to stock up on cards for the coming months. Plus a couple of spares for children's birthdays etc.

I bulk buy washing powder, rice and loo roll from Costco. It means I don't have to worry about running out for ages and when supplies I running low, I plan a trip to Costco to stock up. I don't have lots of storage, so I have to be choosy in what i bulk buy.

I have a calendar in my kitchen where I can see what is coming up that month, which gives me time to plan ahead.

Sort out a load of washing in the evening ready to go in the machine as soon as you get up. By the time you're dressed, had breakfast etc it'll be done and you can peg it out. Put a load away every evening too, it avoids having lots of washing everywhere needing sorting. We also have an extra laundry basket that we chuck in stuff that needs ironing then it all gets ironed on Sunday night (by dh - even better!).
If you have dcs wash all school uniform on Friday straight after school then it's done.

Meal plan. Keep a pad and pen out in the kitchen to write down anything that runs out. Make it a habit that the person who uses the last of something writes it down then you have a shopping list ready to go.

Take photos on your phone of things like school letters, party invites so that you still have all the details even if they get lost.

Stock up on cards and wrapping paper suitable for various ages and keep in a box with stamps and your address book. If your children are invited to lits of parties it's also worth stocking up on some generic gifts eg craft sets, books etc.The Works is good for this and often has good offers.
