I bought some new trousers for starting a temp job tomorrow, until the summer holidays. They're clinging to me :( :(

How do I make it stop!? Hairspray? Something else? Gaaah! I'm soooo glad I decided to try on now instead of getting dressed then stressing tomorrow!

Hair conditioner in a spray bottle with water.

Or dryer sheets. Just rub on.

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/04/2019 14:51

And moisturize your legs.

lucysmam · 28/04/2019 14:58

I'll definitely moisturise, I'd planned to shave them tonight. Will have to have a root for a spray bottle next time I go upstairs.

@MrsTerryPratchett thank you! Hopefully I won't be back, in a flap, in the morning :)

How do you dry them? In a dryer or line dry? Dryers are awful for cling. But you can use fabric conditioner. I think vinegar also works. But the smell!

lucysmam · 28/04/2019 15:02

I dried them on the line, I do have a dryer but very rarely use it. Usually only to finish towels off if they're still damp, or it's a rainy day. Pretty much everything goes out for at least a little while.

Dunk them in a bowl of water with fabric conditioner. Don't rinse the fabric conditioner off.....could then spin them in the machine and hopefully dry by tomorrow.

misscockerspaniel · 28/04/2019 15:59

All the above plus attach a metal safety pin to an inside label.

lucysmam · 28/04/2019 16:04

@Jeh45 I don't usually use fabric conditioner. Nanna might have some though. Do I dilute it?

@misscockerspaniel what does the safety pin do?

OP posts:
Jeh45 · 28/04/2019 16:10

Dilute it in water but then don't rinse it off....just allow to dry...

misscockerspaniel · 28/04/2019 16:17

The metal safety pin discharges the static electricity. I had the same problem and it seems to work. (I said attach to a label but it says attach to an inside seam)
