Is an 8 foot trampoline big enough for 2 DC?

We don't want a trampoline that dominates our garden, and a 10 foot would take up most of the patio area.

Does anyone have an 8 foot trampoline with 2 DC? Do they have enough space to bounce at the same time?

DCs are 5 and 7.

I wouldn't say so no. We had a 8 foot one when ds was small. We replaced it when he was around 5 and dd had come along. that seems fine for ds7 dd2 but i wouldn't be happy with them both on the small one.

You know that two or more on a trampoline is very dangerous? As in broken limbs dangerous? Esp with size differences.

Fairylea · 27/04/2019 09:02

You shouldn’t have two on together no matter what size it is to be honest. I know people do but it’s so dangerous.

I agree. Only one child should be bouncing at a time. The likelihood of head injuries is just too high otherwise.

There should never be two bouncing at once whatever size it is, it's just not safe. One of DD's friends has broken her arm over the Easter holidays while bouncing with her siblings. I wouldn't take the risk.

MumUnderTheMoon · 27/04/2019 09:49

I'd say yes it is too small for two kids. Also it's all very well saying their shouldn't be more than one on it at once but realistically that's nonsense are you seriously going to make one child watch while the other has fun? If you can't fit in a large enough one I'd say don't bother.

I have a 8ft one and 2 DC's age 5 and 7. It is too small for them now and I wish I had bought bigger at the time.

Could you fit a rectangular one on there? They offer more usable space imo. We have a 9' x 13' Jumpking but you can get smaller ones.

We managed x3 children and a trampoline. They understood one at a time, wasn't hard. I would prefer a moment of poutyness to a 6 week stint in plaster, wouldn't you?
