Today my son told me I should be in an old people’s home.

Last week we did jetskiing, buggy racing, up a mountain together.
I didn’t think I was ready for a home just yet.

I hate you!

Ok then, thanks, see you later! (Cheery wave)

I'm really annoying Grin

SparrowBo · 25/04/2019 14:47

happyhusband might you have to step up and be a parent/husband Shock?

Sorry but tired joke. Men have hormones too and aren't easy to live with.

happyhillock · 25/04/2019 14:50

Ha ha bring's back memories, my DD was alway's saying i hate you to me my reply was bet not as much as i hate you, she once said she was going to call childline because i told her to tidy up her tip of a bedroom, they grow out of it honestly

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 25/04/2019 14:52

I live in Australia and there are LOTS of ads for "aged care living for the over 55s". I've still got a few years to go but it doesn't stop DH from telling my boys (6 and 11) that that's where I'll be soon and they can visit me there. Hmm

JustAnotherPoster00 · 25/04/2019 15:04

Dont worry OP I used to say my late mums NI number was 1A she was that old, from the age of about 10 I used to tell her it wouldnt be long till I was putting her in a home Grin karma will have it thats what my kids tell me Grin

HalfBloodPrincess · 25/04/2019 15:12

@AudacityOfHope it actually helped me with childhood bullies too.
If anyone ever picked on me or called me names I just used to agree with them or say thank you - it used to infuriate them as it’s not the reaction they wanted. My old grandad taught me that (think it’s an army thing)

Happyhusband · 25/04/2019 15:44

SparrowBo. Yes it is an old joke. I love them both dearly and hope we can all get on through it.

SecretWitch · 25/04/2019 15:47

I have an 11 year old dd. She loves to ask me what Queen Victoria was like. 11 years olds are mean.

Toomuchgoingon · 25/04/2019 15:51

Happy husband. My DH is facing the same problem. I don't envy him

Graphista · 25/04/2019 16:11

Kids!

I'd have said "I'd love to! Someone to see to my every need, no need to do anything j didn't want to, good meals and likeminded people to talk to"

I've worked in several, granted not all are good/nice but most are and the food is usually lovely, one particular one I worked in the cook was especially fab - she was also one of the owners - and loved giving us staff "leftovers" to take home. Her apple crumble was gorgeous!

SadieContrary · 25/04/2019 17:41

If it makes you feel better then an 11yo student asked me what a DVD player was today when it was referenced in a mock exam he was sitting. Jeez, I'm only 36 but felt about 90.

You're not old in the slightest but when you're 11, anyone over 25 is ancient!

adiposegirl2 · 25/04/2019 17:49

Dis-inherit him!
