I've seen a few people say they saw the film last night and thankfully not seen anyone spoil anything for anyone else 😊

Thought we could have a thread for those of us who have seen it to talk about how much we loved it!

StarIf you haven't seen it yet don't read onStar

So what did everyone think? Best bits? Bits you cried at (I had quite a few!) Any unanswered questions?

The whole film was absolutely spot on, it honestly couldn't have been better. It was like being on an emotional rollercoaster 😩 I've never cried watching a film at the cinema before but yesterday I couldn't stop.

From the first scene to the last I loved every bit of it.

We have a special affinity for the Iron Man Spider-Man relationship in this house and I think that moment when they hug was possibly my favourite.

I'm still processing the end, but I think it was Kevin Feige's plan right from the start. Thinking back to the first Avengers movie and Cap' and Tony's argument, it had to be this way.

I also got where they were going as soon as Clint and Nat went to Vormir, but it still shocked me.

Professor Hulk was brilliant, as was Thor. And Ant-Man, loved their comedy. And I really hope Hulk gets his own movie. I adore Mark Ruffalo.

Cap's happy ending was perfect, and I liked the way that went with Sam. I know everyone was expecting the shield to go to Bucky.

I'm just trying to book to go again.

CrazyDuchess · 26/04/2019 12:53

EVERYTHING you said MrsFassy I bloody loved it! What a fitting end.

I am a cold bitch but really when Spider-Man kept saying "Mr Stark" woooh the floodgates opened! And that funeral....

CrazyDuchess · 26/04/2019 12:55

Honestly but to have the ability to think 10 years back how this story would play out is beyond exceptional.....

I loved all the tie ins with the previous movies - this was a masterpiece.

Although I must admit I didn't feel too bad at Black Widows death

When he shouts "Avengers Assemble" I died a little bit

MsMarvellous · 26/04/2019 14:58

I'm an emotional wreck after that but I was hooked and don't think I moved for the full three hours straight.

Brightermornings · 26/04/2019 15:22

Loved every moment when cap got the hammer, hulk and the selfie with the kids, fat Thor although I still would 😜. So sad at the end. I want to watch it again.

CharDee · 26/04/2019 15:25

DS was watching Spider-Man Homecoming today when I got home from work and I walked in at he end when Tony Stark is with Spider-Man and I felt myself welling up! Their relationship is so touching. The way when Tony got back to earth the first thing he said was that he lost the kid. The hug when Spider-Man came back. The way Spider-Man was there as he was dying. 💔💔💔

DH has had a rubbish day at work but then four of his colleagues have turned up to help out. He's just text me a picture of them all stood there and wrote "Avengers...Assemble"

OP posts:
tanpestryfirescreen · 26/04/2019 15:42

why did people cry? all the feedback seems to be crying? not a damp eye in our screening.

PunkRockHippy · 26/04/2019 15:55

Because after 10 years people get attached to characters?

NeverTalksToStrangers · 26/04/2019 18:40

There was a cheer in the cinema when spidey turned up. He's just adorable, isn't he? My 21 year old niece is a little bit in love with him.

Nobody predicted 5 years. That was nuts. The devastation everywhere still was a surprise, but i suppose it would have been realistic. I kept thinking they were gonna go back to the part when captain marvel appears as they are looking at the pager, but then remembered that was the mid-credit scene and not part of a trailer.

There was no focus on how the 2 snappenings were reported worldwide, unlike in avengers assemble and civil war. We get a glimpse of the news in infinity war though. You can imagine that if the world finds out time travel is a thing there will be numerous requests to take people back from the dead (why not black widow and Tony) from a different time zone. If 2014 Thanos left 2014 and died in 2023, then surely it messes up the snappening? I know they covered this by saying these events can't be chanced because they already happened, but he wasn't around in 2018 to do the snap...

My mind is melting...

I was right in thinking black widow would die, but wrong on how ant man got out of the quantum realm. Gutted about iron man. I think the MCU will miss his character. The boy seen at the funeral probably will take over though.

They could have gone

NeverTalksToStrangers · 26/04/2019 18:41

Ignore last line. Doh!

CharDee · 26/04/2019 21:33

@NeverTalksToStrangers Spider-Man is my absolute favourite. Him fading away in infinity war was heartbreaking. Tom Holland is brilliant. I loved Andrew Garfield but think Tom Holland is better suited to Spider-Man.

The timeline and how everyone coming back won't have aged has me a bit 🤯

OP posts:
ILoveYou3000 · 26/04/2019 21:47

We love Spider-Man here too! My 15yo is in love with Tom Holland, I think he's adorable and plays the role perfectly. There was a definite reaction in our showing when he came back.

I'm going again in the morning 😬

AfterLaughter · 27/04/2019 10:21

Devastated about Natasha. Her and Bruce are soul mates Sad

Mrsoh39 · 27/04/2019 15:19

Place marking, as we're about to leave to go and watch it, so excited Grin

Iggly · 27/04/2019 15:25

I was exhausted afterwards! Had to go to bed early 😂

I was really disappointed at the editing of Captain Marvel’s character in Endgame. I’ve seen her film which made it even more galling. The previous trailer and end credits made me think they’d do so much better to introduce her to the rest of the avengers and they’d be a bit more like WTF etc etc. But no. It was shit.

Aside from that, I loved the film. Iron Man dying made sense even though it was sad. Cap America getting his happy life was great but I felt sad that that was it for his character.
Loved seeing Valkyrie again and Thor was brilliant he really was.

I’m def watching it again.

Iggly · 27/04/2019 15:27

Oh and we watched the film with a group of adults with learning disabilities. One of them was really really upset when Iron Man dies - really wailing and crying and kept calling out “no!”. It made me even more 😫😫 😭

ShaggyRug · 27/04/2019 15:38

Just back from seeing it and it was fantastic! I too was sad not to see more of Captain Marvel (LOVE her and the film) but she was also still pivotal at the end there so perhaps it was fitting that she didn’t overpower the characters we’ve watched for so long.

Emotionally drained though so might try to fit in a rewatch in a couple of weeks.

Thanks to the spoilers I was prepared and didn’t lose control sobbing Grin

Mrsoh39 · 27/04/2019 16:03

We are here and ready, see you all later.

CharDee · 27/04/2019 17:37

@Mrsoh39 Hope you enjoy it! Can't wait to hear what you think Smile

OP posts:
lostlalaloopsy · 27/04/2019 18:02

We went today, it was bloody brilliant!!! It definitely lived up to the hype.

It was great, really funny. I loved watching it in such a busy cinema - everyone cheered when Captain America picked up Thor's hammer. And when everyone comes out of portals to fight Thanos - wow!!!

My son was also very impressed that Thor must have been drinking Irn Bru 😂😂

tinkering · 27/04/2019 18:12

I am honestly so, so gutted Iron Man has died. Feels silly of me and I know it was a fitting ending for Tony — and I know IT’S A FILM!! but I binge watched the movies in 2017 and I feel like I’ve lost them all so soon 😂 Tony Stark is my favourite 😢 and I can’t imagine an avengers movie without the main guys.

Loved fat Thor - THAT is who I visualise from the Norse myths!

Adore Captain Marvel 😍 was so shocked that they (she) shanked thanos SO easily initially.

DeadDoorpost · 27/04/2019 18:15

DH and I are 100% certain there was more sound after the clanking. He thinks he heard someone say "Thanos" while I think I heard what sounded like Redskull talking. But we couldn't hear properly because people were talking all around us.

I'm glad the film pages homage to the comics in Thor handing over mantle of Majesty to Valkyrie (with a female Thor now in the comics) and Cap handing over the mantle of CA.

Also, pretty certain Paul Bettany played Jarvis as well. Was definitely his voice. I like how he was the inspiration for Tony for Jarvis. I'm going to look this up on IMDB now...
