Hallucinations

My three year old daughter has woken up crying and asking for her Daddy. When I went to comfort her I asked what was wrong and she said there were ladybirds in her bed, she was adamant they were there and after taking her down stair to calm her down she said she could still see them. She didn’t seem that worried about them, they distracted her and stopped her sleeping. Are these hallucinations anything to worry about?

Has she got a tempreture? This is normally what causes them.

Totally normal at this age. I still remember I used to see a lion Grin

Night terrors, the game sound worse than the dreams. But vivid dreams, is a major factor

I used to get this as a child. I can still remember it. The whole room would be covered in little white flowers with smiley faces on them. I think it's quite common in small children.

I still get this sometimes but I see spiders and bugs 😩

I hope she settled.

No temperature. Thank you for your messages, it is comforting to hear that it isn’t as uncommon as I thought. I will monitor the situation. I read an interesting article on the Guardian website and that helped as well.amp.theguardian.com/science/2015/jun/07/childhood-hallucinations-common-research-psychotic-schizophrenia-why
