2 clothes peg questions

What clothes pegs can I buy that will stay put?

My back garden is really windy & all my washing ends up all squashed up together at one end.

And, I've got a multi-peg octopus thingymyjig for my smalls. Is there an easy way to stop that scuttling off down the line after the rest of the washing?

I use wooden pegs and push them as far onto the line as they'll go, past the little cutout bit, they rarely shift.

I put a peg closely either side of my octopus and that keeps it in place.

I bought two different sets of plastic ones thinking they'd be kinder to my clothes and less likely to snag but they're not great at staying in place.

Old fashioned wooden ones with a metal hinge don't budge at all.

One of these for your octopus and anything else that needs to dry on a hanger

Eco force pegs from morrisons and other stores. As long as you clip them on properly they don't move

BackforGood · 24/04/2019 22:09

I just use cheap wooden ones - nothing special - Wilkinsons or poundshop or similar.

I would get a 'prop' so your washing line is horizontal (parallel to the ground) then your clothes octopus won't have gravity to slide it along the line.

EcoForce storm pegs

Pu my a couple of pegs on the line on either side of your octopus to stop it from sliding around.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 24/04/2019 22:13

Mine are from home bargains. They don't come off or move if you clip them on right

stucknoue · 24/04/2019 22:29

I have wooden storm pegs from asda, they are over 10 years old, no problems with them

Great. Thanks very much.

THIS ^

I just don't understand why it's not a staple in everyone's peg bag. How else can you hang sockapus and anything else to the washing line without it moving?

Cind91 · 24/04/2019 23:41

Wooden ones. Not plastic ones

Kpo58 · 24/04/2019 23:42

I don't rate Eco force pegs. The plastic hinge that is a single piece of plastic dies too easily.

toomuchfaster · 24/04/2019 23:43

@Kpo58 and @FluffyDavis my DM had those in her peg bag when I was growing up and I never knew what they were!! She doesn't have them now.
