Where are the spotty ones with bad makeup and poor dress sense and terrible braces?

Has YouTube taken the awkward stage away from them?

It's very sad for them. They need that stage. It's character building.

My DD is often ultra groomed but consequently looks so similar to her ultra groomed mates that I struggle to distinguish which one is her in group photos! It must be a horrendous pressure for any who are not inclined to join in.

I loved being a teen in the 80’s and 90’s, it wasn’t Stepford teens back then.

What I think is missing compared to the "olden days" is as much variety in style. Almost where you knew what music people were in to by looking at them. Goth, punk, punk rock, indie, rave, drum and bass, grunge, garage, or just pop,..... I quite liked the creativity of a lot of outfits even decorating your own bags. I expect if I went to a uni town more I may see it but only two of the local teenagers I see in town seem to dress differently.

I spend a lot of time at a uni in a "hip and trendy" as the kids dont say city. And they are not more alternative their dress. It's all quite safe.
