Would I miss my bath if I got rid of it?

Considering taking out the bath and just having shower enclosure. We currently have shower over the bath.

Would I miss the bath? Does anyone just have a shower in the house?

We bought a house with just a shower, if it hadn't been for having DS we wouldn't have put a bath back in.

Got rid of the baths in the house we have now and a previous house; baths are just things to clean to me, I never use them and don't miss having one at all.

I love completely love baths, but hate over the bath showers.

So I would probably rather have a decent shower enclosure than a shower over the bath, if it had to be one or the other.

I’ve had a bath in every house bar one I’ve ever lived in and then the landlord put one in-never really used it I’d get rid and put in an amazing shower

Shesaysso · 23/04/2019 21:26

Even if you never have a bath as soon as you get rid of it you’ll then want one. It’s like before being pregnant I never ate unpasteurised cheese but as soon as I couldn’t have it, all I wanted was a massive block of Stilton. Don’t do it!

We are literally just in the middle of getting rid of ours and having a big walk in shower. I've just set up an appointment with our plumber to give him the deposit and sort out starting date and skip arrival. I can't wait.

Baths are required for relaxation purposes and also for bathing young children and animals (and my dh), so very much an essential in my house.

donajimena · 23/04/2019 22:17

My old neighbours had theirs removed and yes, they only wanted one when it was gone. They lasted 5 years and had one put in.

Geraniumpink · 23/04/2019 22:21

We are just about to get a new bathroom and have gone for keeping the bath with a shower in - but mainly for the resale value. We don’t use the bath much.

I love taking baths and use mine a couple of times a week. I get sore and achy and just crave hot baths, or, in the summer when it is very hot I like to take an ice cold bath. So, I would never not have one. Myum just got rid of hers as she never used it, so too did my aunt and uncle. I love their big walk in showers but not enough to get rid ofy bath so when we do out bathroom up next year we will have a shower over the bath.

redeyetonowheregood · 23/04/2019 22:30

My dad doesn't have one and really misses it. He always takes a bath at our house when he comes to visit.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 23/04/2019 22:30

I couldn’t be without a bath. Could you find a better shower/bath combo?

TheBouquets · 23/04/2019 22:34

I am looking for a new house and I think of a house only having a shower as a down mark.
It would depend on the price and cost of having a bath put in whether I would even view a house. We have a main bathroom with a shower over the bath and an en suite shower room. I like having the choice. I use the shower if I am hot and dirty after working in the garden just to get clean again but later the same night will have a bath to steep in to ease the bone and muscle aches and pains

cheeseandpineapple · 23/04/2019 22:38

Can you get in and out of the bath ok to shower? If yes then would say keep the bath. It’s a brilliant way to warm up in the winter and whilst you might not miss them now you might miss having the choice.
