I have been the biggest lazy arse this Easter.

I have spent the last few days slobbing about at home. I have done regular housework, place is clean and tidy etc.
But I feel I should be gardening, spring cleaning, batch cooking, taking the kids places...
Back to work on Thursday though, and just think, so what? I have done nothing except Mumsnet and watch High Society today.
Tell me that's what holidays are for?Grin

I have just spent the last three hours sitting in the garden in the sun. I only came in because my iPad battery was starting to die. Grin

EleanorLavish · 22/04/2019 15:22

I actually need to go to the shops-the effort!

I did click and collect yesterdayGrin

I can't be arsed to reply to you, I'm enjoying the sun too much to bother.

CoffeeConnoisseur · 22/04/2019 15:26

I’ve done the bare basics to keep the house running. All I’ve done today is mop the kitchen and I have a massive Costco pizza to put in the oven for dinner. I’m just debating having a glass of wine in the garden.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 22/04/2019 15:30

I've done the washing,I'm about to have a snooze on the sofa now😊

Butterymuffin · 22/04/2019 15:32

Down time is important. I've had loads this holiday and I believe it's done me good.

Oblomov19 · 22/04/2019 15:40

Loads of slobbing here. 2 weeks of tv, x box and sleeping. think that's important. But we also went on a couple of bike rides, beach, planted 2 clematis. I think we got the balance right.

missmouse101 · 22/04/2019 15:43

Yes, I have mostly slobbed about doing very little too! It's been great!

EleanorLavish · 22/04/2019 15:49

I was so tired earlier in the week I had to pull over in the car one day and told the kids I needed 5mins sleep. I agree that sometimes we need proper down time.
Youngest hasn’t been dressed for 3 days, just in PJs!!

Apart from work, I've had 2 weeks of total slobbery. Just washing up and bins emptied.

Paying for it today tho, washing mountain has been tackled and replaced with ironing mountain, kitchen cleaned, hoovered and mopped. Also have my 2 nieces staying so 3 kids are now charging about undoing everything 🤦‍♀️

GreenHouseKeeping · 22/04/2019 16:12

I'm all for downtime, but one of your DCs hasn't got dressed for 3 days?

That's pushing it a bit Shock

CherryPlum · 22/04/2019 16:31

Nothing wrong with having a few pj days! I love downtime, so do my kids. They're both doing well at school, and need time to just do nothing. We've chilled out all Easter.

BornInAThunderstorm · 22/04/2019 16:35

Thank god I am not the only one not out every day cramming lots of stuff in.
My facebook feed is full of people traipsing round National trust houses and parks with grumpy tired looking kids.

Ds bought a new much wanted toy with his easter money last week and anytime I suggest an outing he clings to it and nearly growls at me. I don’t see the point dragging him out if he doesn’t want to go 🤷🏻‍♀️

EleanorLavish · 22/04/2019 20:22

You’ve made me feel all guilty now GreenHouse. Blush
Is that such a bad thing??
He is only 6yo. Has been happy as a lark playing with his wee toys (best child ever for playing quietly with his toys, for hours!) Doesn’t make much difference if he is dressed or in PJs?
Anyway, he got dressed this afternoon, and we went to the shops and he had a frozen yogurt.
The older ones have been out and about non stop, I’m exhausted thinking about all they’ve done.
(Drip feed but youngest is ? Asthmatic and has a cold which always brings on upper respiratory infection, doesn’t bother him but he has been puffing like a train the last few days).
I promise we will go to the park tomorrow!

It's okay to go at your own pace OP.

Lilacspider · 22/04/2019 20:32

It's fine op! That's the joy of the Easter holidays as it's hard to get a proper break at Christmas!

AtrociousCircumstance · 22/04/2019 20:34

Don’t be guilted OP! Quiet PJ days are a treat for kids and adults and the peace and togetherness will be a more cherished memory than a forced outing.

EleanorLavish · 22/04/2019 21:00

Thank you for backing up my lazy ways. I was thinking that Easter is a bit like Christmas without all the hassle and effort.
Long live relaxing!

Bodicea · 22/04/2019 23:13

Op i was thinking how I much prefer Easter to Christmas especially if it’s sunny. Lots of family time and none of the hassle of present buying - well except for eggs that you don’t have to put much thought into.
