Going to treat myself.
Like dry gin
Nothing sweet and no gin liquors. Envy

Dingle, Two Trees or Drumshanbo Gunpowder.

moosesormeece · 21/04/2019 22:47

Botanist! There's a slight hint of possible greenery in its history, but otherwise it's just gin, no froofy stuff.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 21/04/2019 22:49

Monkey 47, masons Yorkshire tea gin

Freaking0ut · 21/04/2019 22:50

Da Mhile. It is welsh gin. They make the seaweed gin which I don’t particularly like, but their botanical gin is absolutely marvellous!

Am I the only person who read your title as "find me a nice guy to bin"
I was rather intrigued as to which guys 30 mumsnetters had binned off Grin

lastqueenofscotland · 21/04/2019 23:04

Blue I have binned off many guys in my three decades which is why I need some more gin Grin

Silent pool

Caorunn

IncyWincyGrownUp · 21/04/2019 23:13

Roku and rock rose are two I’ve recently enjoyed. I quite like empress too.

Serin · 21/04/2019 23:29

Tanquery No 10 is my classic "dry" gin.
I was disappointed with The Botanist. We went to the distillery on Islay where it is made and I wanted to love it but it just tastes of vodka to me.

bebeboeuf · 21/04/2019 23:30

I’m not a fan of Hendricks but I love

Herno
Spitfire
Botanist
Monkey 47
Silent Pool

Mrbay · 21/04/2019 23:33

Another one to add to your list, Newton House - a really really lovely traditional tasting gin.
Not peppery, fruity or overly floral

bebeboeuf · 21/04/2019 23:39

Master of malt is an excellent resource of information on Gin and has ratings and detailed reviews. Helps me choose when I want to try a new one

KitchenDancefloor · 21/04/2019 23:52

Chapeldown (bloody good English wine too!)

bebeboeuf · 21/04/2019 23:56

@kitchensqncefloor - totally agree. Top Gin and top wine

wateraddict · 22/04/2019 00:08

There is an app called ginventory which is a great way to read up on gins when you can't decide what to buy. Advises tonics and garnishes as well as a nice description of each. For dry or savoury I would say poetic license northern dry too, Jawbox, or Thomas Dakin. Brockmans is lovely but I find it sweet so it may not be for you. Enjoy your choice!

Gotthetshirt23 · 22/04/2019 00:13

Da Mihle
Dyfi
Botanist
Bathtub
Brockmans
Mermaid (fabulous bottle)

Need to try Harris Smile

MindfulBear · 22/04/2019 02:08

Jawbox
Silent pool
Glendalough
Rick Rose
Tarquin
Lidl Hortus

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/04/2019 02:10

Tanquery Sevilla. It's sweeter so you won't like it. But I want lots of MNers to buy it because DH just bloody drank a lot of mine without asking and I'm furious.

He has folded all the laundry, done all the dishes, prepped the dinner, and he is generally lovely but MY GIN.

lastqueenofscotland · 22/04/2019 08:16

Thanks for the heads up re ginventory 😊

Another vote for Roku. It's a great sipping gin.

wateraddict · 22/04/2019 10:24

@lastqueenofscotland you're welcome! Smile
