Camping near Barcelona? Any advice?

Last year we stayed in a chalet at Camping Fabulous just outside Rome and had a fab time (me, 22 yo DS and 6 yo DD) It was the perfect mix of lazy time around the pool and games with DD and a bit of city sightseeing for the grown ups.

This year DS can’t come so it’ll just be me and 6 yo DD and I was thinking of booking something similar near Barcelona as I’ve heard it’s quite good for kids.

We can fly to any of the airports in Barcelona area with easyJet/Ryanair/jet2 from our local airport and won’t have a car so I’m looking for somewhere with good public transport links. Have seen a couple of sites in Sitges which look although they might fit the bill, does anyone have any experience or any suggestions of other areas? Cambrils looks nice but more expensive

Also any advice as to the best time to go. Last year we did Rome in July and it was very hot in the city so thinking Barcelona might be the same and wondering if May half term might be a better bet?

Thanks

The above park would be one of the closest to Barcelona so easier from a public transport point of view.
Cambrils is lovely but is quite a distance from Barcelona. I would be reluctant to tackle that one with public transport.
Is flying into Reus a possibility? It gives you a lot more options of camping grounds with better/shorter public transport time/distance. Cambrils, Tarragona and Salou would be better options if you're able to fly to Reus.

Not sure about camping but I would recommend flying into Girona and staying there for a bit. Lovely small city and easy train / car route into Barcelona. Also v good for cycling if you like that kind of thing.

We stayed here 2 years ago in our camper van but they do have chalets on site too

Nice clean site with a swimming pool and bar/restaurant. They run a free bus to the next town where they also have a beach bar. Also can m pay for day trip by coach into Barcelona.

Stayed at this campsite twice and enjoyed it
About half an hour west of Barcelona

We've flown to Barcelona and used train and bus to get to Villa Nova and it's been fine

Thanks so much everyone. Found an awesome deal on Eurocamp site so have booked the Villanova site mentioned above. We’re staying in one of the safari tents at half term and it’s only £138! Even once the flights are added it comes in under £500. They had mobile home type chalets with en suite and AC for a similar price but DD was excited about staying in a tent bless her
