Suncream for eczema

getoveritatlast · 21/04/2019 10:15

Any recommendations? Ds2 reacts terribly
anything on his skin. Dreading the sunny weather again now. Anyone have any eczema proof suncream suggestions? He has prescribed from the docs but all out...and to be honest he does still react to that just not as bad

I find green people sunscreen good.

My oldest has eczema and she doesnt react to it.

EleanorLavish · 21/04/2019 10:20

My friend and I both had kids were very bad eczema and reacted dreadfully to all suncreams.
We did long sleeved tops, hats and kept them out of direct sun at peak times.
Wasn’t worth the hassle of cream.
Skin specialist said that was fine.

EleanorLavish · 21/04/2019 10:21

Also, skin specialist recommended Milton baths. I’d never heard of it but made a massive difference to DSs skin.
Here.

Yes to green people

Try the Aloe Vera sun cream - amazon or health stores

DD has beautiful soft skin all summer

Likethebattle · 21/04/2019 10:59

Try Altruist from Amazon. It was devised by a dermatologist so gives great protection. DH is seeing a dermatologist for a skin condition and this was his recommendation and do fat do good over the last few days.

ArfArfBarf · 21/04/2019 11:02

Ultrasun do a good one.

Any mineral one which causes a physical barrier is less likely to cause a reaction but such a pain to put on small kids as so much thicker.

anothernewone · 21/04/2019 11:03

La Roche posey? I find a slightly lower factor (ie 30 rather than 50) also seems to cause less reaction

missyB1 · 21/04/2019 11:09

Child’s Farm do one I think. We used their toiletry products for ds when he was younger and his eczema was bad.

Cadsuane · 21/04/2019 11:29

I use P20. Other sensitive skins ones I can wear for a day or two but then start to react. This one I can wear every day. It's oily so I find it actually doesn't dry my skin or leave it sticky.

APurpleSquirrel · 21/04/2019 11:31

DD reacts to most sunscreens, not eczema but a rash - only ones we've found are ok are Child's Farm & Ladival.

CusheyButterfield · 21/04/2019 11:32

I can really recommend Childs Farm - it's the only suncream that I've found that doesn't make DD flare up. We've used it daily over the last two weeks and she hasn't had so much as a single patch!

MiniMum97 · 21/04/2019 13:11

I also use green people sunscreen. It's the only one that I've found that doesn't make my skin react or make me come up in spots. It's very good (I have v fair skin and never burn when using it) and price is ok.

Millie2013 · 21/04/2019 14:50

Child’s farm or sunsense ultra!

alittlepieceofme · 21/04/2019 14:51

My sister and I both use Child's Farm on our little ones!

Pinkiii · 21/04/2019 15:31

Another vote for childs farm

Vanillaradio · 21/04/2019 15:35

Ladival has been the only one that didn't set off ds' eczema the last few years but he's complaining it makes him itch this year so might be back to the drawing board. For some reason his skin does not like Child's Farm products at all!

dameofdilemma · 24/04/2019 14:26

We've used Eucerin and the Superdrug baby sensitive one with success. First one for face, the Superdrug one for body.

I have serious eczema (requires hefty medication) and have found both the Eucerin and Superdrug one fine.

Dd also has eczema and can use both those and also the Boots Soltan sensitive one.

If I were you I'd try the cheapest first and go from there (wish I'd done that as the Superdrug one has been great!).

Ownerofmultiplechimps · 24/04/2019 19:38

Asda's own sensitive baby/kids ones work really well for my ds2

spiderlight · 24/04/2019 19:52

Sunsense toddler milk roll-on was brilliant but they discontinued it last year. They have a sensitive roll-on which is meant to be the substitute for it and so far DS's skin seems OK with it.
