Weighted blanked

Has anyone used a weighted blanket for a NT child? My 5 year old has trouble settling for sleep and we often get tantrums ( during the day too). She says her brain gets mixed up. Wondering if a weighted blanket may help her settle.

Ooo they’re fantastic! I pinch my ASD sons one and it’s brilliant!

Very comforting! Worth a try x

Thank you both! Going to look for one now. I feel for her but it is draining for us too, bedtime is hard work. She's fine once asleep.

Melatonin might be worth investigating too.

I am under our special blanket right now! DS uses it to calm down or when he’s fed up. I use it for naps. I pull the throw over my knees, put the weighted blanket on top and am flat out in minutes. Miraculous.

Wow, thanks @Offallycheap will look into melatonin too. It's strange, if she wakes in the night she settles really well (like when she very occasionally wets the bed and I do a sheet change) but when it's bedtime it can be really difficult for us all. (Our younger child we just say goodnight to, leave, and she goes to sleep!)

I have one and although it take a couple of days to get used to it was worth eagerly penny. I've heard lots of good reviews about it working for children too. I bought mine from Gravity Blankets but their sister company does ones for children Here and you also have the option of returning it within 28 days if it's no good

@purpleunicorns that's great, thank you.
Brilliant if we can try it for a few weeks and return if no good as they are expensive (though worth every penny if it works).
