If you had £100 to spend in IKEA...

If you were due your first baby this July, and had £100 to spend in IKEA, what would you buy?

We already have the famed highchair, Kallax units (with various inserts), the pegboard and Strandmon chair lined up.

What would your 'must haves' be?

I used a 2x2 kallax as a baby change unit.

Floralnomad · 19/04/2019 23:59

Meatballs and then more meatballs.

MamaRaisingBoys · 20/04/2019 00:05

They do a gorgeous rocking crib that is low to the floor, but prob not very practical for your back!

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 20/04/2019 00:07

Spare covers for the highchair cushion, or a highchair cushion if you don't already have one on your list, very useful when baby is first in highchair!

Meatballs for freezer, the sparkling lingonberry stuff and a giant random stuffed brocoli/rat/carrot

FuzzyPixel · 20/04/2019 08:34

Thanks, great ideas. I really do need to stock up the freezer...

I brought a baby towel, that nine years later is as soft and lovely as when it was new. It was also bigger than most meaning we've had a lot of use from it!

InvisibleToEveryone · 20/04/2019 09:08

One of their cots and best mattress they do, plus bedding.

ThatDeadlyJetty · 20/04/2019 09:16

Socktopus.
Agree with cot and mattress.
Their plastic plates and cups are excellent but you're a while off that yet.

FluffySocks123 · 20/04/2019 09:38

Them cover all bibs - you won't be needing them yet though lol

They also sell little plastic boxes - in a pack of 3 - I found them great for storing bits in; creams, dummy clips etc

Meatballs & Diam bars

You won’t need them for a while but toddler plates, bowls, cups, bibs, plastic cutlery and a couple of sets of plastic cutlery.

toomanycats99 · 20/04/2019 09:42

Their version of jammy dodgers are nice. They do chocolate ones as well.

BentNeckLady · 20/04/2019 09:47

An antilop and some lovely cot bedding for when the baby is a bit older. Some plastic plates and cutlery.

Lots of daim bars.

mrsnec · 20/04/2019 09:53

Yes my toddlers love the plates and cutlery they used to have a set in the shape of a frog.

I love the wooden toys and fabric play food for when they're a bit older.

But if you are looking for things you can use soon I agree about bedding. But do you have the cot yet? both my two have Ikea cot beds. They've been great.

QwertySmalls · 20/04/2019 09:56

Look in the reductions section.

fr33d0m · 20/04/2019 09:59
