Ds2 has moved into his first flat (not in complete supported living) . I'm visiting. I've spent this morning tidying of course and that bloody bin is going to turn my hair grey.
I cannot for the life of me wave my hand in the right place. I go to it with a pile of rubbish and It won't bloody open!
Suffice to say I won't be buying one anytime soon!!

My mum had one and I love it. Maybe needs a battery change if it's playing up.

I have the opposite problem, it opens every time I walk past it. Gets on my bloody nerves.

Elderflower14 · 19/04/2019 14:21

I didn't know it had batteries.. 😁

How did you think it worked 😂

How did you think it worked?
Obviously a little man sits inside and presses the button to open the lid whenever he hears footsteps nearby! Wink

Don't know how I thought it worked... 😂 😂 😂 😂

Hope you are having a fab time with DS Elderflower, and that he's settled into his flat happily. Thanks

I use my hands to wave to make it magical open! I found out about this as friends of mine has one and told me about that and I saw the red one and I knew I has to get one which I did and it was magical and useful too

Years ago my boss spent over £100 on a hand sensor bin. She proudly set it up and we ooohhh'd and ahhh'd over it until her large dog trotted over to it and set off the sensor.

Her face dropped in slow motion as the realisation came over her that he'd be forever raiding her rubbish if she kept it. She packed it up and took it back poor thing.

I'd like one now they aren't ridiculous prices!

Hope your DS settles well and good luck in getting the bin to work!

Horrible things. They're not 100% reliable, and that makes them excruciating to work with in the kitchen.

Hey Wilf! Your red rubbish bin sounds amazing!
I hope you are happy and enjoying living your new home.

Have a super Easter holiday with your lovely Mum! I'm sure you are doing lots of fun things!

Happy Easter!

I told my daughter (2 degrees and she's a teacher) that they were voice activated. Took her ages to realize that they weren't. Bless her.

Don't worry, the sensor thing on mine broke after about 6 months and I had to throw the lid away. Now it's just an open bin.
