Off to do the weekly food shop soon, and I want to mix it up.

We have had same meals in rotation constantly forever, which are things like:

Curry
Enchiladas
Steak and chips
Chinese stir fry
Gammon egg and chips
Spag bol
Pasta bake
Pork belly and mash

Inspire me!!! I love cooking and am not too bad at it so please suggest anything!!

Mexican lasagna goes down a treat here. Especially when made in my round dish which fits the tortilla wraps perfectly!

Chicken breast in the frying pan with whatever spices I find in the cupboard
A wok full of greens
Sweet potato wedges with salt and pepper

Stuffed pasta in tomato pasta sauce
Greens
Chicken breast

Chicken wrapped in bacon stuffed with mozzarella
Greens
Sweet potato

Whatever veg is in season (favourite time to do this is summer about July time so I can have broad beans) all in the wok to cook and then then rice with soy sauce and boiled potatoes cut into small pieces put in the wok or frying pan to crisp up

Steak
Sweet potato
Veg

My go to meat is chicken - it's quick and easy
My go to veg are - tenderstem broccoli, green beans and spinach
Throw some pepper or mushrooms in there too at times

I know the rut feeling!

My favourites are:
Pork and Parmesan meatballs in marinara sauce
Sweet potato and bean chilli
Slow roasted pork shoulder
Falafel burgers
Halloumi, bacon and avocado wraps

Thanks for all these meal ideas!

Get a cookbook- if you have a family I really recommend £1 meals. Then choose one new meal a week to make. 1 meal doesn't feel like a massive effort but is enough to make you feel like you're getting out of your rut

There are hundreds of different curries you can make with all sorts of different meats and fish, for a start - get a decent cook book written by someone of Middle Eastern/ Asian origin (or Eastern Asian for Thai etc. curries). I am making new curries almost weekly and have developed quite a few favourites, but still have a great variety in what we eat.
