Is it too early for me to mow my lawn?

I realise people as off work today. I desperately want to mow the front lawn because it's looking v untidy and am letting the street down! Off out for the day in a bit. If I was your neighbour and got the lawn mower out now would you be massively pissed off??

Posted too soon!

So not too early, after 9 is perfectly acceptable.

Magmatic80 · 19/04/2019 09:07

Yes I think so, sorry. I tend to start noisy things no earlier than 10am at weekends! It’s a day off for a lot of people today. Although I don’t understand (unless they’re out obv) why people don’t do it in the mornings when it will be nice, surely you want the warmer afternoons to enjoy garden in peace?

PristineCondition · 19/04/2019 09:07

Nah, it's fine.

I get the bank holidays\ Sunday's are sacred and no noise till 2pm back in year olde days but these day very few people get them off, for most it's a normal day

EBearhug · 19/04/2019 09:07

It's fine from an other people perspective, but my lawn will still be dewy, so it needs to wait for later because of that.

Magmatic80 · 19/04/2019 09:07

Haha childfree and against the grain, turns out I’ve been too polite 😀

Aragog · 19/04/2019 09:11

I'd say 10ish onwards. I'd prefer 9am than 4pm on a warm day though, when you're just settling down to enjoy the sun with a glass in hand.

LuxLucetInTenebris · 19/04/2019 09:17

TBH i think it is too early. After 10 would be perfectly acceptable.
I expect my working neighbours to be considerate about my children being in bed at night. In return i am considerate about allowing them a lie in on a bank holiday or weekend morning.
It seems fine if you're up early with your young children... but not everyone is. Many people have done the young children thing, get up early every day to work hard and deserve a bit of peace beyond 9am when they can, on a day off.

AwkwardSquad · 19/04/2019 09:20

I think it’s ok. But then neighbour over the road has been deploying heavy machinery for the last half hour, so lawn mowing would be a delight in comparison.

Buombalayo · 19/04/2019 09:26

I've still not got round to it so it'll probably be nearly 10 by the time I do. I didn't even think about the dewy grass though. Good point!

I always wait until 11am for grass to dry out in the morning. However strumming hedges etc is fair game after 9am!
