What are your 7 year olds "into"?

DS has SEN but to us, he's capable of holding a normal conversation. He tells us what he'll do when he's grown up and how we'll feed his dog, ask "what's college? How many years are there in school", tell us about funny things he saw on the TV.
At school apparently the other 7 year olds talk about football and Xbox. I don't really think even if he was neurotypical DS would be into those.
Apparently he talks to the adults about our cat and not to the other children at all.
With our DD who is 4, he plays pretend things, tig, he'll play running around games at Beavers. I can believe he doesn't have actual conversations at school but I'd like to help him to talk about things the other children might be talking about.

This is a slightly scary thread because DS1 who is 7 has no clue what Minecraft or Fortnite or even the XBox is. Anyway. He’s into Harry Potter (has read all but the last book), he’s a musician and plays two instruments and in an orchestra but that’s fairly niche, loves all sport but especially football, code breaking, board games

If you think he would be interested in Star Wars but be unable to watch the full length films, try the Lego Star Wars movies (very short) or Clone Wars (more cartoon based and there are about 6 series made up of shortish episodes).

Several things you've already discounted - pokemon, Lego.
Roblox and minecraft.
Transformers, power rangers figures. Dinosaurs.
Thinking about what the 7 (and 8, so Y3 and Y4) on the bus the up to - rubik's cube type puzzles - especially the pyramid and a flat 2×3 one, often with images rather than colours. Also some football cards, but I've not paid much attention to exactly what they are. I've assumed some sort of top trumps something.

Obsessed about monkey bars. There is a set in the playground, and seeing who can hold on the longest, who is the fastest. DS has recently mastered them backwards, and skipping rings..... football.

At home, he spends quite a lot of time pretending to be a cat and making up silling languages with his brother.

Jokes and simple riddles, especially if they involve poo.....

Lego Star Wars would be a hit - he likes Lego figures despite not making Lego stuff.
I really want to help him practice talking about things he likes, that other kids are likely to be interested in too.
