About 14.

But in a serious way about 22.

For as long as I can remember, so early childhood.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 17/04/2019 18:28

I was about 12 when I realised I wanted to be a mum one day. I had my first at 20 and I had four by 29. I always felt broody again after each baby and knew I wanted another but I know now I don't want anymore and am sterilised.

22yo. Until 19yo I was quite adamant about NEVER having kids. it's astonishing that I ever got married (or held down a job or owned a house), too.

(future) DH was among very few boyfriends I ever had who knew he would want kids.

When I was about 5

Can I ask those of you who have wanted children from childhood.

  1. Did you look at each boyfriend with a view to being a potential father? 2. Did you feel disappointed that you had to wait as long as you did before the opportunity presented itself?
  2. Did you not feel that there were other things you wanted to achieve before becoming a parent?

Just curious.

I’m amazed by pp who wanted children from puberty. I definitely didn’t want dc and then suddenly got very broody aged 29 and got pregnant straight away. I then immediately changed my mind but thankfully came to terms with it. Have two dc now and feel lucky.

Never, always knew from a very young age I didn't want any. Im 49 now and still feel the same. I did think I might adoptone day when I was young, but then realised that wasnt for me either.

I started to feel a strong urge from about 15 but didn't have my first until 24

  1. Yes. I would have had children in my late teens if I’d had a partner who felt the same way. But with hindsight, I’m glad I didn’t have them that young.
  1. Yes, definitely.
  1. Not until I got the travel bug at 19 or so. I’m glad I got to travel quite a lot in my twenties. But I would have put that on hold to have kids. And I’ve never been career-minded.

4, when I heard about Mary I prayed for a miracle baby. Don’t know why, I had a baby sister that drove me crazy.

DustyMaiden · 17/04/2019 23:26

Only one boyfriend, didn’t actually have a baby until 24.
