Has anyone been vegan from birth

Um, I know I’m asking nosey questions (I’m not a journo) but I’m interested to hear from anyone who’s been vegan from birth.

A few of my kids friends are being raised vegan, as far as I know all of their parents were raised eating meat. Even now I find it quite hard to feed visiting friends, and I’ve even not invited them round so much as I need to prep snacks often (due to also fussy eating/ fruit alone not sating). It must have been a nightmare years ago? If you did grow up vegan did you feel like it was a barrier to social meets ever?

Specifically wondering about veganism, I certainly had vegetarian friends.

Country he is fine with coconut thank god! So Koko yoghurt is a life saver, along with things like Oatly creme fraiche and oatly single cream which I try to shove into as much of my cooking as I can to up the fat content! He was a diddy little thing when he was born, and he just stayed very skinny for his age. Avocados used to be brilliant for packing the good fats into him, but since he was about 18 months old he won’t entertain it anymore unless it’s hidden in something

Storm we also use oatly or provitamil oat milk for everything including drinking, but he has 2, sometimes 3 cups/bottles of the toddler Neocate a day too.
I’ve found oat milk to be the best alternative for not altering the flavour of food too much as I don’t think it really tastes of anything in particular!

There are so many ideas out there now but as a really, really easy option: fruit and/or veg sticks with hummus for snack time (platters with lots of things chopped up will seem exciting to youngsters) and pasta with tomato / veg sauce for dinner.

I think you’re quite unusual in not having store cupboard stuff that can be easily turned in to a snack or meal for a vegan.

I’m mostly vegan but even when I used to eat meat I’d always have a bag of pasta, tin of chopped tomatoes and veggies that could be a quick meal. And have peanut butter, jam, baked beans and marmite in the cupboard. We also would normally have hummus in the fridge too. I think it’s be really easy to add a couple of additions to your cupboard that would enable easy play dates with vegan pals.
