Weirdest thing youve found in your new home?

Just been talking to a friend who got the keys to her new home yesterday and it got me thinking it'd be a good monday afternoon thread..probably done before but 🤷‍♀️.

For us, when we moved in it became clear very quickly that the guy who lived there before was a bit of a bodge it and scarper...

Anyway, there was a strange smell in the bathroom. We assumed it was because the previous family had a carpet in a small bathroom that probably got damp. 3 weeks in we finally had the new flooring delivered so went to rip up the carpet.. had to remove the bath panel and there was our shock... the bath wasnt fixed to the floor at all, instead it was just sat there on a whole hay bale!!! How it didnt move and break the silicone seal when we got in and out is still a mystery to this day!!!

My parents found a hunting horn in the garage.

We didn’t find it but when the electrician ripped up the floorboards he found a load of leaves which suggested the previous owners may have been growing weed 😂 We also found a crossbow in the loft during the survey.

A broomstick holding up the floor of the upstairs bathroom and a family photo of someone who appeared to be a member of the Taliban complete with Kalashnikov.

A stash of porn mags, this was 1996 so pre internet days. Every so often a new one would arrive in the post in a plain brown envelope.

Inside the airing cupboard, where they measured the three children. One who had been taller than the youngest grew no more from 1985. It was very sad when I pieced it together and I felt guilty when we planned to rip that memory from the bathroom. We did make contact and ask if they would like the door and their solicitor replied to say that photographs had been taken Sad

Behind a panel in the kids bedroom - a blow up doll, slashed to ribbons with the month sawn out!
Two vhs tapes, one of an 80's merangue first wedding, the other, full on hardcore arse porn.
We also found a Where's Wally book that we gave to the kids, only to realise later that it was actually Where's Willy, every page a miniature cartoon shag fest.

And then the contact mags and jizz catalogues started to arrive - never would of though you could do that with a leek!

When my parents moved into their home, the whole loft was filled with porn magazine.

It was a massive loft space as well

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/04/2019 09:47

A load of empty quarter bottles of brandy/whisky - under the floorboards. Previous owner of the flat was Muslim, so couldn't help wondering whether he needed to hide the evidence of a secret habit.

stitchmaker85 · 17/04/2019 20:22

In the loft - a cushion and a tube of vagisil Confused

Pieceofpurplesky · 17/04/2019 20:24

Inferiorbeing · 17/04/2019 20:39

large pot of weed and a bong (next to a family guy dvd...)
