3rd contraceptive failure - What to do now? Hand hold please

The first was the pill. Granted, it's up for debate that I could've taken it incorrectly but I know damn well I didn't. I took it at the same time every day, it was next to my cereal.

The second failure was the mirena coil. A suspected ectopic but the scan proved otherwise. It was in a normal location.

The third is now the copper coil, of which I have in now Sad I've just taken a test and it looks positive as hell.

Nobody can try and say the last two were in any way my own fault due to human error.

This is bloody awful. I'm incredibly worried about what a 3rd termination could do, mainly the risk of premature birth (the risk increases with each termination you have).

I think it's definitely a positive, although early.

I think you need to discuss with the doctor about your contraceptives as obviously something is wrong for 3 to fail.

Maybe look into the implant too?

And I’m sorry about needing a 3rd termination. It’s not an easy choice

I can't have the implant unfortunately Soub

It's not suitable for those who have TIA history and is reportedly known to cause headaches which I'm worried about (I also suffer from hemoplegic migraines), and can't risk those becoming worse

Oh!

Well then an appointment with the doctor/nurse will need to be made to see what they can do.

Do you use condoms too? I know some men don’t like them but it’s an idea

Soub We have occasionally but not really! I was advised by GP that I didn't need to if the only concern was pregnancy, since these contraceptives prevent pregnancy and not STI's etc.

I'm married and thought the annoyance of condoms was far behind me Angry Guess I may have to double up, even though I shouldn't have to since I'm on supposedly reliable methods.

DH doesn't like them, no. But would if he really had to. I don't like them either, I find them a bit rubbish and I've tried a lot of them, including those thin skin to skin ones

Well, I asked my GP to refer me today. He said he won't do it Confused so has passed me onto another GP.

I told him not to bother, I'll do it directly myself.
