Bottom back tooth filling

Ahhhhhhhh...
I have some decay on my back left tooth. It’s starting to ache abit. 😩 I’m absolutely terrified of the dentist and only started going at 18. Iv had one filling on a top one which wasn’t too bad, but Iv heard bottom ones are much worse?!

Help!!

Most of my teeth are filled top and bottom, I have noticed no difference between having a top tooth done or a bottom one.

Don't be scared, I have never felt one bit of pain anytime I have had dental work, and I have had root canals and a wisdom tooth extraction. I think the anticipation is worse than the procedure.

Thank you! I’m having a full blown panic attack about it after reading about it going into muscle etc. I’m terrified 😂😩

Stop reading such tripe - if you look for scare stories of course you get scare stories. No one writes up blog posts about "I went to the dentist and had a tooth fixed - it was uncomfortable for a couple of minutes and then afterwards my lip was numb for two hours but then all was fine".

There's no difference between repairing top or bottom teeth. Having a decayed hole is far worse than half an hour at the dentist, and can lead to real horror stories. Get it done sooner rather than later.

I've got a good mouth of Scottish teeth (more fillings than teeth). I've had loads of work done on bottom back teeth including an extraction and two root fillings. I've genuinely not found it to be any more of an issue than elsewhere. I don't love going to the dentist but I've built a good relationship with my dentist over the years so an manage it. I think bottom teeth are easier for the dentist to access and therefore easier for you than top teeth

On other stuff - part of the reason I've had so much work done is that I dodged the dentist for 7 years. I ignored pain and took loads of ibuprofen. It made the whole situation worse. Now at the first twinge of anything, I'm down there and it's super easy.

Thank you all! I’m going to ring tomorrow. Iv figured it’s the gum at the fromt of the tooth that really hurts 😩
