I want to give my baby a bottle. Don't understand bottles and tests.

I've not had sleep for over a year. I'm dying and utterly exhausted. I want to stop bf and change to formula. Can you explain what bottle to buy and teat? I don't know what I'm doing. Baby is 13m.

People are giving the OP advice she didn't ask for because they are being honest and truthful with her. By all means, she can give her DC formula and a bottle and then in six months she'll be on here again asking how to wean her DC off the bottle. Much better if she's making a difficult transition, do it all in hit, rather than just putting off the inevitable.

If DC is just feeding for comfort, it's better to stop the association entirely.

If you insist on doing something, I'd try a dummy over bottles and formula. A couple of dummies costs less than a tenner and doesn't involve pissing about making formula at night.

Thanks JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam that's exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for! I didn't realise you could swap teats between different makes.

We use tommiee tippee anti colic bottles my 4.5 month old needs a 6month + teat that’s the fastest flowing one they do... may not be fast enough for little one as a lot older but could always use a pin to widen it if needed , the bottles are half price at boots if you order the individual ones online ... but you will need to get the bigger tear separately.

You can get stage 3 milk to start with if needed as closer to breast milk and the. Wean into cows milk then water ? Perhaps buy a little bottle of ready made and trial the baby on it?

Also worth trying to get onto cup which imagine you use during day for water?

Well done for breast feeding for so long though.

Does baby nap in bed or cot? Maybe a good way to introduce to cot ... but if your happy consleeping then don’t change it ... each to their own if it works for you it works x x

Personally I'd give her a dummy

Has your lo ever taken a bottle? You may find she refuses it anyway. What does she drink water out of? I wouldn't start formula, I'd go straight to cow's milk.

She's always drank water from a cup. She has refused the dummy and has never taken it.
