Hotel with best pools for kids!

Inspired by the “favourite” hotel thread!

I have 2 DC, 5 and 7, both very good swimmers. We have never taken them abroad. I am hoping next year we will be able to.

So I am thinking, in Europe, modern hotel, on the coast with amazing pools, maybe even swim up rooms? I am disabled and find public transport abroad very stressful with the kids so would really like the pools in the hotel to be really good rather than a nearby water park. All inclusive would be ideal.

Not sure how much money I will have for this so trying to work out whether this is feasible and how much £££ I need to aim for!!

just literally returned from turkey the royal palace hotel in Antalya.

indoor and outdoor pools, 4 water park type slides, theme park on site and beach.

was really affordable

That looks amazing! Probably too expensive for a summer holiday but Easter or half term is doable! What was the temperature like?

My DS's have been same ages abroad and ANY pool keeps them amused for 2 weeks! Diving mask, snorkel, lilo and you're sorted. From Greek square pools to the most complex. Honestly. Have a lovely time!

Check out Serenity Fun City or Jungle Aqua Park in Egypt - massive water parks!

Or on First Choice you can search under all hotels with water slides I think

Quick tip - buy pool toys here in the UK before you go away as they are cheaper. We bought water squirters from the pound shop which were selling for £4 and diving toys for £2 from Aldi which were £10 in the resorts.

The one in Egypt with the parrots and the pirate ship. Something Acqua Park then! Can get decent deals too if you're ok being bound to the complex. Plenty restaurants on site.

If you go to Egypt (Sharm) at Easter you need a heated pool

rightreckoner · 13/04/2019 08:28

You’ll def need a heated pool for Easter or even June half term. Made that mistake once and won’t make it again !

we literally came home yesterday - it was 24-28 0c. the indoor pool is heated and the outside wasn't but it was fine for kids, the transfer was only 20mins and we took our own inflatables!

It was very wheelchair friendly

Alcudia - club mac. All inclusive food is good they have a kids buffet with simpler foods as well, plus 2 pools on site and a huge hiropark a few ft off site but you get free entry as a hotel guest. I went as a child and as a teenager then with DP before kids now taking the children this year too I can’t recommend it enough

Have a look at Lindos Princess Beach Hotel in Rhodes. We went last September and my then three year old absolutely loved the pools and water slides. The hotel also has direct access to the beach and lots of activities for kids.

Titsywoo · 13/04/2019 08:50

First Choice Holiday Village in Rhodes has lots of pools, a small water park and swim up rooms. Only one pool is heated though so if you are going in July/Aug it's great but when we went in Oct the pools were too cold. There are several other first choice villages though with similar set ups.

Some of these look amazing! Although I am now being nagged for a unicorn float Wink. Definitely worth saving for now!

In terms of booking, do you think the best deal is the package deal type thing from First Choice or are there cheaper options? Would you book way in advance or will they get cheaper nearer the time?

Once you've figured out what a deal would cost, definitely phone the hotel to see what their 'direct' price is. See how the deal compares to getting hotel, transfers and flights separately (hotel could organise transfer, but taxi from airport is probably cheaper. Do you use a wheelchair? Not sure how that affects local transport ).

We've always been surprised that even what seems like a really good holiday deal can usually be beaten by going direct. I guess the travel company does need to add a mark-up!

nordicwannabe · 14/04/2019 09:41

But make sure you phone (or at a push email directly) rather than just check the internet - that's how you get the best price!

Bearsinmotion · 14/04/2019 09:51

Ok, thanks!

Genuinely never occurred to me to phone!!
