Possible explanations for this

Every single night for the past month, at 11pm I hear a loud dog howling somewhere in the distance. It lasts for about a minute then stops. I don't mind it too much but it sets my dogs off which scares the shit out of me if i'm sleeping.

What could be the reason for this, is it perhaps a dog somewhere asking to be let in? But at the exact same time every day?

Doesn't happen any other time either, only 11pm.

Someone let's their dog out for a wee before they go to bed.

Or you are being haunted by ghosts wolves

Sometimes dogs hear something we can’t which makes them bark - my dog barks before the first train every morning at 5.30. Just one short bark but it is bloody annoying. Then the train comes and we can all sleep for another two hours (despite the fact that there is a train every half hour from 5.30 onwards). It’s like he hears a rumble, this makes him jump then he remembers that we live near a railway line and it’s all okay.

The owner lets the dog out at 11pm each night? As that is their bedtime?

It's like an episode of Tales of the Bleeding Obvious.

It’s the local pub closing up for the night and the dog is just saying goodbye.

That’s the exact time the cat wakes up and walks past the window that the dog is looking out to
