Has anyone used hypnosis and it has worked?

I am a terrible procrastinator. To the extent that I think it might be a kind of mental illness.

A hypnotherapist in my town has said to me that he can definitely help with this. Does anyone here know if this could actually work?

I can't even afford it to be honest at the moment but I might be interested one day if it's not going to be a total waste of money.

Can hypnotherapy turn me into a go getting, organised new me?

It worked for my ils they went to stop smoking. It did sweet FA for me and dh.
I think it only works on certain people.

Procrastination is very common in adhd-ers but it depends on how you are otherwise.

I use self-hypnosis & my friend used it to give up smoking. Think it is person dependent.

It can be utterly amazing, but it depends on the skill of the hypnotist, and, most importantly, on you. If you are prepared to engage with it fully, and do the homework, it can work wonders for you.

It cured my terrible needle phobia in one session, and, a few years later, really made a major difference with conceiving.

Obviously, don't get into debt to do it, but when you have the money it would definitely be worth a shot.

It worked brilliantly for my bruxism. However, I think I need to go at least once a month to keep the benefits going.

Could it work to stop me eating crisps? I'm sure I would be slim otherwise, actually a serious question

It worked for me - self control around sweet foods. Two sessions a week apart were effective for about 3 months.

Hi thanks for all your replies.
It makes me feel a bit weird thinking about it. But it would be great if it worked.
I guess it will be too expensive though if it needs to be an on going thing.

You might only need one or two sessions. Max of 6, I would have thought, but the therapist should give you an estimate up front

Yes. I had 3 sessions, 15 years ago. I’m clueless as to how it works but the ‘place’ he created with me in my head when I think of it now it comes back instantly and in Technicolor. It’s a calm, beautiful place and without stress. I can’t be stressed when my mind thinks of it it’s like it’s a 3D thing with an emotional level not just a visual one. I always felt in control during the process too, if that helps. I’d describe it as a very pleasant experience and not what I assumed it would be.

Anyway....if you go semi-relaxed and open minded I think it works better.
