I’m looking to go to Poland in December. Had a look at flights this morning then again this afternoon and the price has gone up by £30! Is this because I am looking at them again and again? I have tried clearing cookies, private browsing etc but the price keeps going up! I don’t want to panic buy because the price has increased, my friend has advised me to leave it a few days and go back and look/book but does anyone think they’ll go back down or have I missed my chance at cheap flights?

As they've just been released the price increases the more seats they sell ...

I've just booked for new year to Paris which cost me £30 at 10am - they've gone up since then

Ah so I have missed the cheap flights then :( knew I should have just booked them but thought I’d check with my dp before I do!

If you’re thinking of flying out of Luton, use Wizzair, they’re really good. Don’t know if they fly from anywhere else in the UK.

It's a myth that they "know" you've been browsing flights from your cookies and increase the price next time you log in. Really all that happens is that tickets are cheapest when they are first released and they go up in price as seats get fewer and fewer. As you are finding out, the price can literally go up within a few hours between searches.

The price has gone back down now by 20 quid! Think I’ll just book them, I get 24 hours to cancel without losing any cash!

Oh no I don’t, just double checked. Ahhh not sure what to do now, whether to just book them and risk the £30 cancellation fee if the dates aren’t good for dp. It would be Manchester we are flying out of

You can track the prices in google flight tracker? I did this with Eazyjet and was notified when they went up and down.

WhoNose21 · 11/04/2019 15:31

Oh thanks, I have never heard of that so will have a look now

Do your search using incognito. It doesn't save the cookies. But yes they do go up , but by more if they know you're searching

Are you looking for the peak travel dates around Christmas and New Year? If so, and if those flights have recently been put on sale, a lot of savvy punters may be snapping up the cheapest seats which would explain the price rises.

If you’re just searching for random dates in December, however, this is unlikely.
