It’s been a very strange day, describe your strangest day?

I found a lump, about 3 months ago. It has grown.
I went to the Drs and have opted to go fast track to have it diagnosed and then go from there.

Life must go on yes, so I’ve yet to receive a final bill from my gas and electric after changing supplier so I rang them and was told that I’m more than £1200 in credit....

How’s that for strange?

😲
Now you, ever had a strange day where bonkers stuff happened?

Having to kiss my brain dead DH goodbye in ITU before they took him away to harvest his organs for transplant.
Receiving my widows pension at 35.
Having to free the ligature from my DD1’s neck when she tried to hang herself on a staircase.
Having my house set on fire in the middle of the night by an arsonist.
Having the arsonist turn up on my operating list two years later, in manacles from the local prison. I refused to anaesthetise him and swapped with a colleague.
Being told my newborn DD2, convulsing and on a ventilator, was unlikely to survive the night.
Going to SCBU on Xmas Eve to find her breathing and making a great recovery.
Attending both DDs’ graduation from uni, having feared neither of them would survive that far.
Looking back, my life has had far too many “strange days”!

That sounds awful. I'm so sorry.

Exactly a year ago today was one of the most surreal days of my life. I was struggling with Post Viral Fatigue syndrome and the previous day I had come home early from work and walked from the bus stop to the house of a close friend, who wrapped me up in a blanket, let me sleep on his sofa, made me dinner and then eventually drove me home after an evening together which cheered me up no end.

On the Wednesday of that week I arranged with work that I'd do a phased return as I wasn't tolerating full days, and when I came home the same friend asked me if I wanted to drop in at his again before going home. He made us tea, sat down in his living room, and then said, "What are we going to do about us?" And then basically he confessed that he'd fallen in love with me and that he felt we were utterly natural together, and would I marry him?

Yeah, that was a weird day 😆

But I did marry him, and it's wonderful Smile

Stitch. I dream of that story. How spectacular.

Attending my husbands funeral when I was 37 weeks pregnant. Remember sitting by a lake waiting to go in and wondering if I was in a film

Being told my little brother had been killed in a car accident in the middle of the night. Sitting on the back step watching the sun come up and wondering how time dared to continue to tick by.

Started off going to work as normal, ended up holding my Dad's hand as he died in ICU. 200 mile drive in between which I remember very little of.

Not a patch on some of these but probably falling in the deep snow in Jan 10 and (unknown to me) breaking my wrist. Struggled into work in immense pain to find it closed then dropped into NHS drop in centre near station to be assessed when I found out about the break. Got the train home and was asked to help give someone a jump start so I did despite knee deep snow and a broken wrist. Drove one armed through the snow to the hospital where I got a cast. Tried to get my car out of the car park but couldn't as I'd been more or less blocked in while in A&E - bad weather caused chaos - and couldn't manoeuvre with just one arm. Got out and cried. Bloke walked past and offered to drive me out despite its being seemingly impossible - he was a professional racing driver it transpired. Weird, weird day.
