It's for a fancy dress costume and I reckon it's cheaper than buying the material and making a skirt
I have an underskirt I just need the big 'bell' crinoline shaped skirt

Oxfam online is very expensive

Boot sale?

Palominoo · 07/04/2019 19:26

Or ask on freecycle?

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 07/04/2019 19:26

Our local Banardo's had a wedding dress on display a few months back. Probably part of a Halloween costume.

Ylvamoon · 07/04/2019 19:27

Try Sue Ryder Care eBay shop... you might be able to get one for £ 10-20.

Palominoo · 07/04/2019 19:28

Scratch boot sale, you'd be trapesing around too much.

I think you are going to have to ask around. Facebook, NextDoor and similar websites.

KatyMac · 07/04/2019 19:28

Ooo hadn't thought to look on freecycle or boot sales

Ebay is a bit pants for cheap wedding dresses right now

Bloody tiana and her multi skirted disney-ness!

Is it for a child? Try Communion dresses also - less cutting down!

KatyMac · 07/04/2019 19:31

Sorry my 'child' is 21!!

It's for performing so it needs to be 'Fairlie' realistic

Sue ruder is a no - it seems to be furniture (quite nice furniture actually, thanks)

nextdoor.co.uk

My local one has people helping each other out all the time.

Obviously use caution at going to a strangers house. Take someone with you.

KatyMac · 07/04/2019 19:44

I'm on next-door and may ask there too

Thanks

Wish my mum was handy and could make me an awesome Disney outfit.... (slightly older than your DD Grin)

FiremanKing · 12/05/2019 18:56

Your daughter and the dress look fabulous!

KatyMac · 12/05/2019 19:05

@MrsGrannyWeatherwax which Disney Princess would you like to be? & what size dress?

& will you be cavorting round at parties for small girls for extortionate amounts of money? Wink

Very little actual sewing - a lot of cutting and unpicking and adapting!
A wedding dress, a prom dress, some net curtains and some craft foam!

Now she wants bloody wings

Thanks

Haha ALL OF THEM! I personally just love Disney and would be happy with any (my minion onesie is the closest I have)

But I’ve got a friend who did that (until we got a bit too old to look young enough), she used to do the blondes - rapunzel, Cinderella etc Actually... maybe I could “borrow” one of her old dresses Grin

But your daughter looks brilliant in that and will definitely get the kids excited

KatyMac · 12/05/2019 19:33

Hope so - we have a 'bought' Moana which I made the headdress & necklace/heart of Te-fiti (sp?)

& I currently have some sleeping beauty pink satin (someones old curtains) I am toying with - but DD can't be Aurora Sad
