What to get two year old for birthday?

DD is two next month, I still have no idea what to get her 😩 she likes Peppa Pig but has the kitchen/soft toy of Peppa, she likes Ben and Holly but I really don't think she needs more soft toys as she has so many. She likes the kitchen a lot but we don't have room really for another similar thing like an ice cream truck/shop etc. She likes playing with her tea set too, she has big Lego-type bricks that she likes building so I might get some more of those but what else might she like to play with/ what's good for her development at this age? She has quite a lot of books too so I don't think she needs anymore just now. Any help appreciated! I'm considering the wooden farm from Jojo Maman Bebé but I don't know if she'll use it? TIA

At this time of year i'd go for outside toys if you have a garden.

Balance bike
Trike
Sandpit
Slide

I brought my son a scooter. He loves it

HopeAndJoy16 · 07/04/2019 09:01

I've asked GP's for playdoh toys, bead threading toys and jigsaws for my DD. I've bought her a Duggee toy and tea set, and will probably get a small dolls house too.

Its just been dds second birthday and she got a play kitchen with accessories and lots of wooden cutting fruit and vegetables which were a big hit, the Melissa and Doug sets are very good.

She got a balance bike and I was considering a scooter but thought it was too much.

Not things I’ve bought for this birthday but things she likes to play with are dolls with a play bottle of milk she loves carrying them around, strapping them into a toy car seat and pushing them in prams/pushchairs.

Melissa and Doug (promise I don’t work for them!) latches board or the house where you ring the door bell and unlock the doors.

Outdoor toys if you have room, swing set, slide, trampoline, ride along car.

My 2 yo nephew and niece (twins) got for their birthdays:
A ride on/rocking zebra
A mud kitchen for the garden
One of these scooters that can grow with them www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/outdoor/scooters/i-sporter/i-sporter-mini-4-in-1-led-lime-scooter/p/165993
A wooden dolls house
A wooden hair and make up set (a bigger hit with nephew than niece before someone mentions it!)

A balance bike would be fab. Get a decent one such as Islabikes Rohan / Frog Tadpole / Strider, as the cheaper ones tend to be heavier and harder to use (secondhand is fine for a toddler if you don't want to spend too much).
Mine both had balance bikes age 2 and could ride a 2-wheel pedal bike at 3.

Scooter and sand pit are great ideas. If she likes the kitchen how about a till / shopping basket so she can also play 'shops' with the play food you already have. Mine also got into jigsaws, duplo and playdoh from that age.

That link was really long sorry... it’s a TP Wooden Multiplay Playhouse from Argos!

Chilledout11 · 07/04/2019 09:12

The sand pit is the most played with toy here (mine are 4 and 5 now)

Duplo still gets played with and I think that's the best toy they have had (onto Lego now but still like it) as does wooden train track

On Amazon they have xxl lego type of bricks that would be great in the garden. Stickle bricks would also be great. Or interlink shapes (argos)

Have a wooden 'mud kitchen' being delivered for grandsons birthday next week . Daughter was dropping hints for ages about it!

Lulu1919 · 07/04/2019 09:22

Sandpit
Slide
Play doh
Mini gardening tools and some seeds to grow

hidinginthenightgarden · 07/04/2019 09:29

On amazon you can get peppa pig duplo!

Other than that - colouring pencils, play doh, books, new food set for kitchen, clothes.
Big stuff - grimms rainbow, sylvanian families set, outdoor toys such as car, scooter, slide.

Ciwirocks · 07/04/2019 09:31

Micro scooter! Ours is still well loved at almost 6 years of age and she got it when she was 2. Will probably get a new one for her next birthday but only because she has outgrown it. The scooter is still going strong

Mememeplease · 07/04/2019 09:31

Doctors kit.
Toy microphone
Toy dressing table

Somuchroom · 07/04/2019 09:31

I’ve made the rookie error of buying my ds everything he and I could possibly desire so there is nothing left to gift for birthdays for a couple years Blush. For his 2nd birthday I’m planning to get him an annual membership to paultons park and put some money in his bank account. I’ll leave the presents to his grandparents.

Mememeplease · 07/04/2019 09:33

Oh and the till was also a favourite.

We also had the pram, cot, ironing board etc too.

Lwmommy · 07/04/2019 09:46

Lidl have some great wooden play stuff in at the moment, a sandpit with shade and a picnic bench. Really sturdy and reasonably priced

kaytee87 · 07/04/2019 09:59

Books ?

unexpectedgifts · 07/04/2019 10:22

Can she show you what she would like? My son chose his birthday present at 2.

Take her to a well stocked toy shop and let her choose.
