What do you 'subscribe and save' on Prime?

And do you think it's worth it? I shop at Aldi so there are some things I can't get, so I tend to use amazon rather than going into Tesco and buying loads of stuff I don't need. At the moment I just have coffee pods and kids vitamins on subscribe and save. Any other good ideas?

Dog and cat food

I love it, you get a better price and you never run out.

Awrite · 05/04/2019 09:23

I was going to say coffee and vitamins.

Cat food about to be added. Perhaps I shouldn't have opened this thread.

IHaveBrilloHair · 05/04/2019 09:23

Cat litter

needsleepzzz · 05/04/2019 09:25

Nexium, i get a lot of heartburn :-(
Very handy, well priced and i know each month it's coming in the post with nothing for me to do

notso · 05/04/2019 09:33

Drynites, toilet roll, Hoover bags, shampoo, razor refills bear yo-yo's and child's farm toiletries.
I have no idea if it's cheaper but the convenience of not running out of the toilet roll and drynites is priceless.

I've never used it and have a question - we all know that prices on Amazon go up and down like mad. If you have something on subscribe and save, do you pay different prices and can you easily cancel it if the price goes too high?

I bought some catfood that they had on a good price and was thinking of getting subsribe and save, but I went back and the price had gone up and was now more expensive than it is in Tesco, so I wouldn't bother and would just get it in Tesco instead, so would have to cancel.

Or is the intention that you get it if you don't really care how much you pay, and you just want your desired item(s) to turn up every month at whatever Amazon is charging when it is despatched?

TheQueef · 05/04/2019 10:01

I look for cat food on offer for wet. The royal canin biscuits don't fluctuate much.
Imo the biggest draw back is storing the multi packs.
We are fortunate enough to have a big pantry a cupboard under the stairs and a void airing cupboard so I can buy bigger packs.
Cancelling is one button click plus you can skip this month's and it will appear on next Monday months.
Andrex loo rolls work out at 32-34p a roll but 45 rolls take up space.

Eating hay for the guinea pigs!
They’d savage me if I ran out!

LillyBugg · 05/04/2019 12:04

I hadn't even thought of loo roll and cat food. Toiletries seems quite popular as well. My husband is going to be so pleased I asked Grin

Ground coffee - we get through loads
Dishwasher tabs

I have found the coffee price is pretty stable and corresponds to what it costs when on offer in Morrison’s.

Do people who get a lot of things have Prime?

TheQueef · 05/04/2019 13:58

I have prime, kindle unlimited, Audible and music.
If the price is right I try to get all the bulky stuff from Amazon and getting say a six pack of deodorant stops us running out and everyone arguing who used what up.
It's worth having a browse each month for new vouchers or discounts I think baby items get a 20% discount so assume thatcould give a decent saving.
