What on earth can I take to brunch??

A lovely friend is laying on brunch on Saturday for a group of us who are regular brunchers but this is the first time at someone’s house.
She’s put together such a fabulous menu and suggested we bring juice or fresh fruit which have already been picked up by somebody else. I’m totally stuck as to what to take. The menu is -

Museli with fresh fruit
Chorizo and sweet corn fritters with eggs
Avocado and roasted tomatoes on sourdough
Crispy kale, sprouts and potato hash
Coffee, juice, prosecco

Also there’s only about 6 of us so nothing too substantial please!! Oh and I’m dairy free :/

If people are drinking, ingredients for a Bloody Mary?

Girlinstripedpyjamas · 04/04/2019 21:01

Bircher muesli with oat milk? There’s s good recipe online but it’s essentially grated apple with oats, nuts, seeds and dried fruit and milk/ yoghurt
Or breakfast muffins? Barefoot contessa in food network has a load of recipes

Flowers for the host?

Pushpull · 04/04/2019 21:03

I'd take coconut milk for the coffee and flowers/plant for the host. Maybe some raspberry liqueur for the prosecco if you want to contribute to the brunch itself?

Flower777 · 04/04/2019 21:05

I would take flowers for the host. It doesn’t look like you need any more food.

Jamhandprints · 04/04/2019 21:06

Tell her you'll bring the prosecco or muesli? Or offer to host next time.

FizzyPink · 04/04/2019 21:06

Wow amazing ideas already, thank you all!! Yes that’s what I was thinking already lots of food so maybe flowers and more fizz is the way to go Smile

Bottle of champagne. Or Buck's Fizz.
Fresh bread rolls, and a posh jam.
Croissants.

Rapunzelrella · 04/04/2019 21:13

Prosecco

Lemon and blueberry muffins?

Or Nigella does lovely - never fail - Christmas muffins with cranberries but to make them more summery you can use lemon instead of satsuma zest and sultanas instead of cranberries and adjust the spice selection (maybe more cinnamon?)! As long as you keep the quantities the same, you can play about with the recipe.

There are some good breakfast muffin recipes that use yoghurt, or buttermilk, oats and muesli raspberries too.

Speaking of buttermilk, you could make a stack of pancakes that you could reheat in microwave and serve with berries, maple syrup, Greek yoghurt etc. Just make sure you put baking paper between each one.

Gordon Ramsay does a good "carpaccio" of pineapple - thinly sliced, vanilla , sea salt - can't remember but can easily find recipe!

Mango smoothie?

Nice ground coffee?

listsandbudgets · 04/04/2019 21:17

Cream for the coffee and some crystal sugar sticks Not sure these would deliver in time but I think some of the bigger supermakets or a specialist deli will do them

Ninkaninus · 04/04/2019 22:18

Frozen all butter croissants. £3 for a bag of six from Sainsbury’s, or slightly more for a bag from M&S. Pop them in the oven and enjoy freshly baked croissants. So delicious and perfect with a coffee.
