ASDA & Ella's Kitchen Launch a Baby Food Pouches Recycle Scheme for all brands

Launching in 37 stores as a 6mth pilot scheme, people will be able to pick up Freepost envelopes which can then be filled with up to 15 baby food pouches from ANY brand.

These envelopes can then be sent off completely Free of Charge to TerraCycle - a company that recycles our unwanted plastic into new and useful items like benches, watering cans, backpacks & many more.

Ella’s Kitchen has been working with TerraCycle for the last 9 years to run its EllaCyclerecycling programme & there are over 400 public drop-off points in the UK where members of the public can leave pouches to be sent back to TerraCycle.

Brilliant idea!

Tesco are also trialling a similar scheme for crisp packets and sachets of this type (pet food, baby food, sauces etc) in 10 stores in the Swindon and Bristol areas.

This really interests me because we use a lot of cat food sachets. We do try to use tins as well as we have 4 cats so they could share a tin for each meal, but the food they like, such as Felix as good as it looks only comes in sachets. I do buy a lot of high meat food in cans from Zooplus, but the fussy buggers won't eat it at the moment Hmm.

Absolutely brilliant news, wish they had done this years ago - it disgusts me to think of how many I’ve had to throw away over the years

I feel that they could do it in a better way. Having to send so many envelopes is wasteful and gets expensive.

Does anyone know which Asda's? I can't find any info online via a quick search.
