Turboprop flights? What are these? What does this mean?

Cardiff and Doncaster - Flybe will also stop flying jets from these two airports. It will close its servicing operations at the airports, but will offer turboprop flights

What does this mean? I rely heavily on these flights. Can anyone help!

They are planes with propellers rather than jet engines. Smaller that the jet

Propellor planes rather than jet engine planes?

Possibly smaller planes?

Turboprop is just the type of plane, it uses Propellers rather than jet engines and have built-in stairs so require less ground staff to manage the aircraft arrival/departure

Thanks everyone!

So does it mean that there will still be flights from cardiff to Edinburgh?
What does 'closing servicing operations mean?

FlyBe use them quite a lot - I fly to Dusseldorf a lot with Flybe and on the less busy flights of the day its turboprop. Slightly slower and noisier, but fine on short hops

Thanks!
