A Houdini proof buggy?

Please help is there such a thing? Dd3 is nearly 2 and she keeps escaping her current buggy. I've taken to double strapping her with a set of harness reins but shes fighting badly and tantruming to the point shes is sick. Mornings are hectic as I have to get her older siblings to school and the fighting is stressing everyone out including 2 who have special needs. School is too far to walk her yet and she hates the buggy board she won't go near it at all. We are currently using a babylo lightweight buggy as we normally walk everywhere but there are times I need to use public transport or a taxi to take DC to appointments.

I just had to double strap in with reins as you described. I had a Babyjogger City Mini GT though - huge child - he would have damaged a lightweight buggy trying to get out of it. The city mini is heavy but does fold small in half rather than umbrella fold.

I'll have a look at that one thank you. Shes what I call compact shes slightly on the small side compared to others her age.Grin if I can find one where I can avoid the reins I'd be so happy she hates the sight of them now and screams no no no when she sees them and 1 of the older DC is going into school very stressed qnd having more meltdowns due to her tantrums over it as she continues until we get home and I taken them off.

What about a toddler sling?

Blush I'd forgotten about them. I still have the wrap slings from when she was tiny but she hates them back then as she had bad reflux and we couldn't quite find her a comfy position as she hated being upright for long periods. I will hunt them out tonight and give it a try tomorrow. Thank you Smile

She might whinge less because it's like a nice cuddle. Especially in the cold. Good luck!

DrWhy · 03/04/2019 21:27

I was going to suggest a sling but worried it was a Mumsnet cliche! Good luck.

Thank you found both of them and currently googling how to use it for a toddler. Smile

My dd has tantrums in her buggy so I keep an ergo baby sling under it at all times to just whack her in there.

I could do that with nursery drop off for my youngest ds and the PM pick up but in s morning 1 ds gets picked up by transport on route to primary school. She started with this about 3 weeks ago and at first I tried walking her on a harness but she got tired after about 15 mins and still tantrumed when I put her in at that point. My older ds has been put in safe rooms everyday due to meltdowns as hes so stressed about seeing her doing this. I've tried to explain toddlers can be like this and 1 of his other siblings did the same but not to this extent. I can't get him to understand it and its affecting him at school. Shes a stubborn one and seems to love being independent which I want to encourage but I also have a 3 year old walking as well so worry about of one of the younger 2 bolt trying to catch them with the other in tow.
