Can I sell free perfume samples on eBay?

I've got a drawer full of various perfume samples from all different brands. I've collected them over the years and my mum always picks up some whenever she goes to a dept store and gives them to me. I've noticed on eBay that people sell them for a couple of pounds. Is that allowed? Just not sure what the rules are. I'm talking about the tiny little bottles in the cardboard sleeves. Thanks.

Would anybody buy them?

Who would buy them when you can get them free from department stores?

Yes of course you can, why wouldn’t you be able to? I have bought a sample of my usual perfume on eBay when going away for a weekend abroad and only had hand luggage on the plane, saved me taking the whole big bottle.

You'd be surprised! I have bought samples of discontinued brands or ones I'd like to try but can't be bothered to hunt down in store

You can but so much effort with postage etc. If you aren’t fussed about the money- you could donate to a local women’s refuge?

TheGrey1houndSpeaks · 03/04/2019 17:44

You can’t always get them free in stores. Last time I asked I was given a piece of cardboard sprayed from the tester bottle!

MarkleSparkle · 03/04/2019 17:45

Yes I’ve done this. Have you got multiples of the same type or brand? I had some and sold them in batches.

Check the ones you've had years haven't gone off first?

Progress2019 · 03/04/2019 17:47

I bought one, I think it was £2.50, and I was happy to pay it.

Badgerama · 03/04/2019 18:00

Brilliant thanks all. I was worried there was an eBay rule that you couldn't sell them. I'll give it a go and see what happens.

OP if the example above is anything to go by you will be lucky to break even. £2.50 minus fees, fees and more fees!
