A couple of months ago, I was driving (alone) out of a supermarket car park.
Car comes up behind me bibbing horn and flashing lights, I went around corner, out of traffic, and man gets out saying I hit his car.
He was insisting on my confession and details so we could sort it.
I refused as there was no incident.
He called the police then hung up when they wouldn't come and told him to go through insurance.
I asked to talk to them but he hung up.
I called the police to check I was right to refuse my details and check I could leave. They did so I left.
I phoned my insurance in the morning to tell them what happened and make it clear there was no contact.
Now, 10 weeks (ish) later a claim for personal injury is put in.
Nothing for a car claim.
My insurance are sending someone round to assess my car and take my statement.
It's a passenger not the driver making the claim. His partner was in rear of car.
Is this standard practice?
Do I need to be concerned?
My anxiety is through the roof even though I know there was no accident.
