I am a mother but I get every word of this Times article about the cult of parenthood.

Not a fictional child. A fictional DEAD child.

But we don't know if that fictional "DEAD child" with leukemia was a proxy for a real dead stillborn baby, all we know is that the mother on the plane was insensitive to assume that this women traveling without a child was not a mother, or was not a bereaved mother, or was not childless by circumstance.
