Was this CFery of me?

Had an event at my DDs Nursery yesterday. Sandwiches and cake were provided by Nursery for everyone in attendance including me and DD.

They over catered and there was loads left at the end.

I helped clean up and asked the manager “Could I take some sandwiches for X’s tea?” X being my DD.

Manager said fine and put half a dozen sandwiches and 2 big wedges of cake in a Tupperware box, all she said was “Can you return the box next time X is in?”

Wondering if it was CFery of me? And the manager now thinks I’m a cheapskate?

And even providing a receptacle. She couldn't have minded at all.

I wouldn’t have done this because I’d have assumed the staff were looking forward to helping themselves, but it’s no biggie. Send the container back in with Heroes!

I really can't understand why people are posting saying it's better she had it than it went in the bin, there is no indication this was going to be the case.

Anyway, op, I don't think it matters really. She gave you it and quite a lot, so she was nice, and I think that's all that matters.
