Boring pocket money question

DC currently don’t get pocket money and we’re thinking it might be time to start.

How much pocket money would be a normal sort of amount for people to give to 7 & 5 yr old DC?

Our 7 yr old can have £2 a week - but only if he does some simple chores. He chooses not to because he’s a lazy little toad, so he usually gets nothing.

I think they're a bit young tbh. Maybe £10 a month for the seven year old. I wouldn't bother yet for the 5 year old.

We started pocket money at 7. Per month they get £1 for each year so the dds get £11 and £7 p/m. Will increase DD1's when she goes up to high school in Sept because I'm assuming that's when the wandering into town with friends thing starts.

My 7 year old gets £3 per week. And extra if he volunteers to do something work-like.

At 5 we gave £1 per week and at 7 we were up to £2 per week. At 14 we are on £15 per month, but it will go up to £25 as soon as DD starts socialising more independently.

Mine are a similar age and get £2 a week for doing very simple chores
