I hope it's okay to discuss this here. The charges have been dropped, so I think it's okay to talk about it?

At first, I was appalled by the attack. Then, I was appalled that he lied. Now I'm appalled that he may be innocent after all! If he is innocent, then I feel really bad for him!

I think he is not too bright, and didn’t expect to get caught. After all he’s lived in a bit of a Hollywood bubble since he was a small child. I think he thought it would be all over social media and he would be lauded without question as some kind of victim / saviour. That’s why the whole “plot” looked so half-arsed.

I wonder if he would have been prepared to see someone go to jail as a result of his fake report.

That's a good point @knittedhat. This could have turned out so much worse than it did.
