Help!! Need a bag that fits Ryanair new dimensions that I can buy in a shop tomorrow?

DS is going on a trip which has been organised by his friend's family- they are flying with Ryanair. We have never flown with them before and have only just found out the restrictions on bag size for the free hand luggage, which is all he can take. Even his school rucksack is too big.

The size of bag is 40 x 25 x 20 cm - has anyone bought a bag to fit this size for a Ryanair flight and if so, please could you tell me where from?

I have been googling rucksacks but most of them don't give the dimensions in the description so not much help!

I would risk it, they may be lax but if they aren't it'll cost you a lot of money

Thanks so much for replies - decided against winging it with his school bag because he would be so embarrassed with his friend's family if there was a problem and it's unfair to put possibly put them in that position.

Have been shopping and managed to find a bag of pretty much the exact size - next problem is going to be fitting his stuff in it...!!!

Surely paying £8 to let him take a small cabin case as well as his carry on bag is better than trying to stuff it all in? Unless it's only a night or two away?

Have you spoken to the friends parents they may have already paid take a small case.

I hope you are less stressed by finding a solution, but what friend would ever inflict Ryanair on anyone?
