Dressing babies/toddlers in onsies

DC is 13 months and not yet walking. If he's just playing in the house, I often dress him in a onsie for comfort etc or ease of changing nappies. If he's going to nursery or going out, I'll dress him in an outfit - dungarees, or trousers, t shirt and jumper etc.
NDN popped in and told me he was in PJ's Hmm nope... Just his comfies! I don't dress smartly in the house, why should he have to??
Anyone else do this or am I leading him into a life of loafing?? Confused

You and your child wear what is comfortable in your own home. A onsie is not day or nightwear it's just a comfortable infants garment.

Your neighbour is mad. DS has a special onesie he wears over his clothes outside to keep it warm when it’s chilly. He’s 3

Ignore your ndn, with babies comfort comes first.

Do you mean a sleepsuit with feet? I see those as pj’s, even though my dc wore them days and night until 6 months. I don’t find them convenient for nappies though all those bloody poppers.

But even if it was ‘pj’s’ it surely doesn’t matter at that age. I only got changed out of mine an hour ago, and dc3 got out of last nights ones once he had a bath an hour ago and straight into fresh ones.

We do have fleecy onesies though which get thrown over clothes on cold days.

My DD is 18 months old and she still wears her onesies if we are having a lazy day or if she isn't well. Whatever is comfortable for her 🤷🏻‍♀️ x

NDN needs to mind her own business. What honestly is the point of getting them dressed if you're not going out? They're only going to dirty an additional set of clothes.

And it won't make him a slovenly adult. My Mum was a stickler for "washed and dressed" and I now stay in my pjs whenever I can Grin

As your asking for opinions I would tend to disagree, if your referring to a baby grow this for me would be pjs and I would assume a baby wearing a baby grow at 13 months was in his pjs..
🤷‍♀️ sorry

My 14month old is always in a onsie Blush

Well not always obviously, but if anyone was to just pop in on a day when i haven't been out, then you will see her running around in one! They get grubby and easy access to nappy and tbh alot more comfortable!

I had a friend who had a strict rule of no onsies past 3 months Confused
