Hi guys,
I'm just after your opinion. I've been with DP for 3 years now and looking to start a family. I've been in my current job 5 years, but having recently moved I'd like to find a job closer and tbh I'm pretty unhappy with my job at present. How far into a job can I still get maternity pay ? Or do you think I should just hold my tongue and deal with it for potentially another year or so (provided no complications getting pregnant) ? I'm really stuck. I'm really miserable but equally I don't want to go into a new job and let them down.what would you do? Tia .

First I would find out more about my current maternity package and see how it reads.
If it’s a great deal then hang on but some have a clause you have to come back for 3 months otherwise you need to pay it back.

Most places of work need you there for 6-12 months for maternity packages to kick in, but all differ slightly x

This link explains it OP. Basically you have to have been employed for at least six months.

Thank you. Does that 6 months include the 9 months pregnancy? I don't think there are any benefits In my current workplace, just statutory pay. 🙁

No. The qualifying week is week 25 of your pregnancy, and you have to have be employed for 26 weeks (6 months) at that point. So bascially, you have to be in a job a little bit before you get pregnant.
