What's the process of getting a cleaner?

I know this sounds ridiculous but I've never had one before!

Had a recommendation - she's free to do the day that I want, what happens now? Would the normally come round for a chat? Do you give them a key or have a key safe etc?

What would you expect a cleaner to do in 2 hours? I have no idea of cleaner etiquette!

Hope it all goes well @HarrySnotter (love the name) Grin

can I ask those of you who are cleaners, do you silently judge the people whose houses you clean? We’ve recently got a cleaner too, and I’m usually there when she is, and I feel like a right lazy bitch for not doing it myself. Blush

Good question @Sproutsandall! Grin

Generally no, I’m there to clean but there are some things that do rankle and you can’t help but think “dirty git”

Things like toilets that are clearly rarely flushed and covered in pee all over the seat and rim. Or used condoms left sitting on the bedside table!! Envy And also dog poo left out in the garden. The dog poo isn’t my responsibility so technically I have no business judging it but I hate seeing big clumps lying where kids and dogs have to walk and play. I think it’s disgusting.

But most houses I clean are already pretty well kept anyway.

I did have one house that was a real hovel and they never opened windows. I stopped after a few weeks because I couldn’t face seeing the baby’s room like a shit tip and the window covered in mould week after week.

HarrySnotter · 26/03/2019 09:40

I wouldn't leave any of those things like that - toilet gets a wipe round every morning without fail so that wouldn't change. I can't believe people leave used condoms out!!

Thankfully most people wouldn’t leave them either! Grin otherwise I’d have to rethink my career choices!

Sproutsandall · 26/03/2019 14:58

ok, phew! We don't do any of those things either.

Poor baby in her mould-covered bedroom!

Step one is clean your house so the cleaner won’t judge you!
