weekend break ideas - dog friendly

So I'm looking for places to go for a weekend - me, DH and DDog. DDog is actually a recognised assistance dog that is allowed everywhere but sadly in reality that isn't always the case.

Looking for a very very dog friendly hotel, so nice walks, dog allowed in (all) the restaurants. obviously cause of the fact I'm disabled and she's an assistance dog - you wouldn't believe the discrimination I experience so it's always easier if its already a dog friendly place.

I'd quite like a wee spa treatment and maybe some nice touristy places to visit. DDog loves a beach too.

We are in Scotland so definitely don't want to be driving all the way down to the likes of Cornwall, Blackpool is a no no, sorry but I don't like it. And staying in Scotland feels a bit same-y.

I love London but it's too busy for DDog, especially with the tourist areas and a long drive.

Would welcome any suggestions of places we can go.

Oh and not too high a budget. And not keen on self catering although I wouldn't say a definite no. It's just cause I feel I might as well have stayed at home if I have to cook our own meals.

I don't have any specific hotel recommendations, but pretty much everywhere around the Yorkshire Dales is dog friendly - and not too far a drive. Oh, I just re-read and see that your ddog likes a beach - hows about round about Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay? I'll have a wee look for hotels...

Every hotel I've ever found through here has been ace. Some very pricey ones but just sort by price low-high and they start at £75/night which isn't too bad, and there are a few in the Lake District too which might fit your geographical requirements. Some of them say dogs welcome in rooms but not in the restaurant but you should be able to get around that no problem as your dog is an assistance dog. And at least you know the hotel as a whole is dog friendly and other guests will be expecting dogs!

Victoria Inn at Holkham, Norfolk. Dogs are welcome to stay in the rooms and are also allowed throughout the ground floor areas of the inn.
Holkham beach has no dog restrictions apart from the fact that you will be walking within the Holkham National Nature Reserve if you are within the pine forest and dunes, so you should be careful at nesting times. The Coasthopper bus stops right by the hotel.
There’s the little Beach Cafe nearby which is really dog friendly. Not only do they receive a very warm welcome from the staff but there are water bowls, soft bedding and even the odd biscuit! They also stock a selection of treats.
Dogs are welcome aboard the boats for trips out to see the seals at Blakeney.

Buxton - we stayed at the palace hotel with ddog, he couldn't go in main restaurant but could sit in conservatory section (was several dogs when we stayed) and there's comfortable sofas by bar that we could use - not that we needed to because across the road are two very dog friendly pubs with good food and beer, and excellent dog friendliness, brought water to table etc. Also nice coffee place (the pudding company), and most the shops too. Not sure on your disability because it's hilly but can recommend restaurants too if you pm or go onto trip advisor where I've got a lot of reviews. If you use a wheelchair I can even recommend accessible hiking routes. The hotel is a spa, not the best in the world but we went on a weekday and it's super cheap only £40 a night - plus in addition to the spa offerings which were ok prices, across the road is part of derby university which is called Devonshire spa, and they have beauty training so cheap prices.

Have a look at the pets pyjamas website for loads of dog friendly hotels.

I'd say the Lake District or the Peak District.
I really enjoy truly dog friendly areas when I go on holiday and these to me are the best. I like to feel my dogs are welcome. Both have beautiful scenery and lots of interesting places to visit.

thanks, there does seem to be a few nice dog friendly hotels in the lake district. Can anyone recommend dog friendly places to visit? Other than going on walks lol
