Why would company offer enhanced redundancy terms!

Is it because they know they could suffer challenges to the legitimacy of pay offs and what would enhanced terms be?

I took enhanced redundancy from the civil service. They wanted to relocate the whole department and no one volunteered for either relocation or redundancy. So they offered enhanced redundancy and most people took it. I came out with a very good deal, took a year off and then found another job.

If they feel they need to cut employees for whatever reason, a financial incentive makes sense. It costs time and money to go through processes to get rid of people. And there will always be employees who were thinking of leaving anyway etc.

Usually to get volunteers and save a lot of pain.

In redundancy situation you should be allowed paid time off for interviews etc. We also had recruitment agencies come into the office and lots of help and support.

You also need to understand whether you need to stay to the last day to claim it or there is some leeeway.

I'd get some proper financial advice about your pension - you probably need someone to look over your pension statements etc. to work out the best thing to do.

It won't be that much screaming , I was earning under 25 grand.
